Continued violent clashes at the outskirts of Damascus and its Ghouta and renewed airstrikes leave more casualties in the Eastern Ghouta while unknown gunmen assassinate a doctor who was displaced from Aleppo late last year

The regime forces shelled areas in Ein Tarma town, while warplanes carried out raids on areas in the town, which is located at the western outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta and adjacent to Jobar neighborhood at the eastern outskirts of Damascus, amid renewed violent clashes between the regime forces and their allied militiamen in areas in the vicinity of Ein Tarma Valley and in areas in Jobar neighborhood. Clashes were accompanied by an exchange of targeting between both parties in an attempt to make new advances by both parties.
The warplanes carried out 4 raids targeting areas at the outskirts of Hosh Al-Dawahra town and other areas in Otaya and Al-Nashabiyah towns in Al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta, causing the injury of 7, including children. The SOHR published this morning that a child and a female citizen were killed and 10 others were injured as a result of an airstrike that targeted Douma city this morning, the 4th of July 2017. This is considered the first air raid to target Douma city in the eastern Ghouta since the implementation of the “de-escalation” agreement on the 6th of May 2017. The number of martyrs is still likely to rise because of the critical condition of some of the injured.
