Tension prevails Idlib after raids by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and arresting tens of persons, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham is accused by “showing itself as a protector of Idlib”

Tension continues to prevail Idlib city and its eastern countryside, after raids carried out by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in the city and in Sarmin town in its eastern countryside, on the pretext of searching for “sleeper cells of the Islamic State organization”, where tens of members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham raided houses and HQs, after which tens of persons were arrested and taken by members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham to an unknown destination, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the raids were carried out in conjunction with gunfire, while local parties accused Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham of trying to “show itself as the only party able to maintain security in Idlib province”, while raids took place in other areas where Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham is located.

In these raids -which took place Idlib city and Sarmin town- members of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were arrested, intersecting sources said that most of them were members of the dissolved Jund Al-Aqsa organization, where part of them swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization and the other part joined Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, the arrests were made in the ranks of those who joined Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, also earlier the finger of the accusations was pointing at the fighters of Jund al-Aqsa organization in carrying out bombings and assassinations against tens of fighters and leaders of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and other factions in Idlib.

It worth mentioning that a series of explosions targeted Idlib city and several areas in its countryside since 20 days until now, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published 5 days ago that a violent explosion rocked the northwestern countryside of Idlib, caused by a bombing in an area near the town of Hafsarjeh, and cross sources said that it was caused by a bombing targeted a center affiliated to an Islamic faction which is likely Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and conflicting information until now about IED explosion inside the center or vehicle bombing that targeted the center, where the bombing caused human losses, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that several people were injured, some in serious conditions, while at least 9 persons at least were killed, including 5 “Sharia” commanders of Syrian, Algerian, Egyptian, Libyan and Golf nationalities, and among the rest of casualties there are students of the Sharia Center, also the Syrian Observatory documented on the 27th of June 2017 the death of 8 members including a group commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the number of members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham after targeting a car carrying them in Ain al-Zarqa area near Darkoush by an explosion of a booby trapped motorcycle near the car they were riding in Darkoush area, also the Syrian Observatory documented on the 24th of June 2017 the death of at least 12 persons including 3 children under the age of eighteen due to a booby trapped car which attacked a market in Dana town in the northern countryside of Idlib city near the border with Iskenderun.
