With the continuation of Syrian south truce… regime forces achieve advancement through their massive violent attack in Rif Dimashq and Al-Suwaidaa and seek to besiege a wide area

With the continuation of the American-Russian-Jordanian truce in the specified areas in the Syrian south which includes the provinces of Quneitra, Al-Suwaidaa and Daraa, which was started at 12 pm on Sunday, the 9th of July, the violent clashes continue between the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and Non-Syrian nationalities against the forces of Ahmad al-Abdu and Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiyyah supported by the International Coalition, in areas in the northeastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa and in the southwest of Rif Dimashq, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces were able since the morning of Monday, the 10th of July 2017, to achieve a wide-ranging advancement and controlled hills, heights and villages in Rif Dimashq and Al-Suwaidaa.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored simultaneous attacks carried out by the regime forces from al-Haqf area towards the villages of Ishiheb, Shiheb, al-Asfar and other villages near them in the northeastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa, and in Jabal Makhoul area, Scientific Research, surroundings of Jabal Sis and Tal Dhaka in Rif Dimashq, also the clashes between both parties continue in an attempt by the regime forces to achieve more advancement in the area between these 2 fronts, which are about 35 km away of each other’s, aiming to besiege a wide space of this area until reaching Teshreen power plant and al-Dumayr airbase.
This advancement for the regime forces from the Scientific Research front towards Zulf Dam area will allow the regime forces -if they were able to advance in the remaining kilometers that still under the control of the factions- will allow them to besiege the factions in the area extending from this advancement line to the west of it, until al-Asfar area and south of Seine airbase, the clashes were accompanied by intense shelling by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and bombing by warplanes believed to Russian on the clash areas. The working factions in al-Suwaidaa which is interconnected with the southeast of Rif Dimashq on Sunday informed the Syrian Observatory that they were not informed by either regional or international part about a ceasefire in the Syrian south.
