The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

Information confirms the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the “Islamic State” organization after about 8 months of the organization leaders’ meeting to appoint an “alternative successor”

Activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained reliable information from a first-line commander of the “Islamic State” organization and second-line commanders of the organization, descended from the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, they confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi the leader of the “Islamic State” organization is dead, the sources added to the activists of the Syrian Observatory that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the last 3 months was in a village at the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor on the border with Iraq, but the sources did not specify how al-Baghdadi died, whether he was Killed in bombing by the International Coalition or Russian planes, or, died affected by injuries he had in previous bombing on the area of his presence.

This information comes after the killing of prominent first-liner leaders of the “Islamic State” organization, the most prominent among them are Abu Omar al-Shishani the “Minister of War in the Islamic State”, “Abu al-Haijaa al-Tunusi, Abu Osama al-Iraqi the “Wali of Al-Baraka State”, Amer al-Rafdan the “former Wali of al-Khair State”, Abu Sayyaf, Abu Jandal al-Kuwaiti, Abu Sufyan al-Omrani and Abu Huthayfa al-Orduni, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 5th of May 2017 that consecutive Khutbahs in mosques in the areas which are controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in al-Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, which follow “the States of al-Raqqa, al-Khair, and Euphrates” and these Khutbahs aim to “motivate Muslims and incite them to fight” and several local sources confirmed to the Syrian observatory that Friday Khutbahs focused on reading “the book of Istinfar* by Amir al-Mu’minin Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi”, and the sources said to the Syrian Observatory that the book which was attributed to the chief of the “Islamic State” organization Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi  includes “incitement for Muslims living in the territories of the Islamic Caliphate to alert and head towards al-Raqqa to repel the attack of atheist Kurds, the Crusader Coalition and agents of the Cross on it”

The observatory had also published at the beginning of December 2016, that it received confirmed information from several reliable sources that the leadership of the “Islamic State” in Iraq have asked the leadership of “Al-Raqqah State” which is its stronghold in Syria to come to Iraq, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory; the leadership of the organization have asked all military and security leaders, including “commander of Jaysh al-Sham and commander of Al-Raqqah State”, and the sources confirmed to the observatory that the leadership of the organization explained the reason for the meeting, to choose “” Caliph successor of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as Caliphate of Muslims.””
