Shelling on Douma leaves casualties and injured and warplanes shell the southeastern part of Rif Dimashq along with continued fighting at the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: two citizens were killed, including one of the Civil Defense Forces, and several others were injured as a result of bombardments by the regime forces of areas in Douma city yesterday morning. Warplanes also carried out last night several strikes on places in the southeastern part of Rif Dimashq. Bombardments coincided with renewed shelling this morning by the regime forces on areas in the Syrian dessert in in the southeastern part of Rif Dimashq, which has been witnessing continued violent battles since the 10th of July 2017 between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and Ahmad Al-Abdu Forces and Jaysh Usud Al-Sharqyah on the other, in an attempt by each party to take a step ahead of the other. Factions are also seeking to prevent the regime forces from fully encircling and besieging the southeastern part of Rif Dimashq and the northeastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa, which are adjacent to each other.

On the other hand, violent battles continue between Al-Rahman Corps on one hand and the regime forces and their allied militiamen on the other in areas in Ein Tarma Valley in the eastern Ghouta and at its outskirts, and in the vicinity of Jobar neighborhood. Casualties were reported at both sides. Clashes were accompanied by at least 5 raids carried out by warplanes on areas of clashes. The SOHR published that regime forces managed to make advancement last night in the vicinity of the meat company, of which they took control few days ago. The last few days have been witnessing attempts by the regime forces to advance in the area as they have been striving along with their allied militiamen to separate Jobar neighborhood from the Eastern Ghouta by advancing into areas adjacent to AlMotahalik AlJanobi (the Southern Bypass).
