Escalation of airstrikes hit villages in the eastern countryside of Salamiyah after the killing of regime forces’ members in the desert

Hama Province – the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Warplanes escalated air strikes on villages in the eastern countryside of Hama which are under the “Islamic State” Organization’s control. Where warplanes bombed areas in the villages of Abu Hanaya and Al-Albawi in the countryside of Salamiyah town which is controlled by the regime forces. No casualties have been reported till now. Meanwhile, a fighter from the Islamic factions was killed during clashes against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them in the area of Al-Zara in the southern countryside of Hama.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the violent clashes were concentrated between the two sides during the last 48 hours in the deserts of the cities of Sukhnah and Palmyra and in the eastern countryside of Hama and near the administrative border between Deir Ezzor and Homs. The clashes were accompanied by heavy exchange of shelling between both parties and bombing by warplanes. The most violent clashes were concentrated areas in areas in Salamiyah countryside and other areas near the Syrian – Iraqi border.

Casualties were reported in the both sides caused by the exchange of shelling and clashes. Where the number of casualties rose to 40 at least, they are three officers including two with the rank of brigadier general, the number of members of the regime forces and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities who were killed during the last two days in the shelling and clashes in areas of Palmyra Desert and the administrative borders of Homs Deir Ezzor and the eastern countryside of Hama, While the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling and clashes in these areas rose to 29 during the same period of time.
