Funeral held for 10 SDF fighters who were killed in Al-Raqqah battles and the clashes continue in Al-Raqqah city

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The violent clashes continue between the Syria Democratic Forces and members of the “Islamic State” organization within Al-Raqqah city, which is the stronghold and capital of the organization in Syria, the clashes are concentrated in the vicinity of the Officers’ Residences and in the neighbourhood of Hisham Bin Abdul Malik and the Old City, amid intense shelling by the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces and International Coalition warplanes on the organization’s sites, also one explosion at least was caused by detonating a booby trapped vehicle by the “Islamic State” organization in the city, while funerals were held in the cities of Manbij, al-Qameshly and the Malkiyyeh “Direk”;   for 10 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces who were killed during the shelling and clashes against members of the “Islamic State” organization in Al-Raqqah city.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the Syria Democratic Forces managed to advance in the southern part of the city near the northern banks of the Euphrates River, advancing from al-Yarmouk neighborhood and controlling a block of buildings known as the Officers’ Housing, which is located southeast of the Panorama roundabout. This advancement is accompanied by repel-attacks carried out by the “Islamic State” organization at night, who are trying to use the darkness to infiltrate the control-lines of the SDF, and target them by booby-trapped vehicles and sometimes by group attacks, and sometimes the organization advance in some areas, causing humans losses in the ranks of the attackers, while the SDF succeeds sometimes in repelling other attacks, and cause human losses in the ranks of the organization.

The violent clash in the south of the city is accompanied by fighting in the same part from the eastern side, where Hisham Ibn Abdul Malik neighborhood is witnessing violent clashes  between both sides in the city of al-Raqqa, in conjunction with the fighting between them in the old city, which is witnessing slow advancement of the SDF and the US Special Forces as a result of the repel-attacks of the organization’s members, and as a result of planting the landmines intensively earlier by the organization and due to the intensive deployment of its snipers on the contact-line with the SDF, while the daily continued clashes in the city of al-Raqqa are accompanied by bombardment of the International Coalition’s warplanes on the areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization, which caused more civilian causalities during the last 24 hours, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 5 civilians of one family, they are a man and his wife and two of his children and his granddaughter, while others were injured.
