Hours following a massacre at the outskirts of Al-Mayadeen city… warplanes shell al-Bokamal and its countryside leaving dead and injured

Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the SOHR learned that explosions rocked before midnight al-Bokamal area as a result of airstrikes carried out by warplanes, whether Russian or affiliated with the regime is unknown, on areas in Al-Bokamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The airstrikes that targeted the houses of civilians, shops and an ISIS car, caused the death of 3 civilians at least and two ISIS fighters. The same warplanes also shelled areas in Al-Baghuz village located in Al-Bokamal countryside, causing the death of a man and several injuries.

The SOHR documented yesterday, Wednesday the 26th of July 2017, the death of 14 persons at least, including 5 children below the age of 18 and 4 civilian women above the age of 18, in raids carried out by warplanes, whether Russian or affiliated with the regime is unknown. The raids targeted Al-Tayba area, which is located at the stretch of Al-Mayadeen city from the east. The number of martyrs is still likely to rise because some of the injured are in a critical condition. The SOHR also observed an exchange of roles during the last week between the International Coalition and the Russians. Specifically, the forces of International Coalition have halted their raids on the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah and parts of the northwestern and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, handing the task over to the Russian warplanes which have carried out tens of air raids targeting villages under the control the “Islamic State” organization in the southern bank of the Euphrates, which extend from the east of Hwijat Shnan to the border with Deir Ezzor, since the 18th of July 2017. These raids have caused a massive displacement of tens of civilian families, who were forced to flee as a result of the intensity of the bombing and the constant destruction that inflicts on the area, under the pretext of “fighting the Islamic State organization”.
