Renewed violations of the southern Syria truce

The southern Syria truce continues to hold on since it was implemented by virtue of an agreement brokered by Russia, US and Jordan in the Provinces of Al-Suwaidaa, Daraa and Al-Quneitra on the 9th of July 2017. However, renewed violations in the areas subject to the agreement continue to be documented. The SOHR documented that the regime forces targeted after midnight with heavy machine-guns areas in Daraa Al-Balad in Daraa city. No casualties have been reported so far. Simultaneously, the Islamic and rebel factions opened fire using their heavy machine-guns on areas at the outskirts of Hodr town located in the northern sector of Al-Quneitra countryside. Likewise, no casualties were reported.

The regime forces also launched around 10 shells and missiles last night on areas in Daraa Al-Balad in Daraa city. Moreover, violent clashes broke out between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and the Islamic and rebel factions on the other. Explosions were also heard and are believed to be caused by the fall of shells fired by the factions on areas in the regime-controlled Al-Kashef neighborhood in Daraa city.
