Raids and battles in areas in Idlib Province between Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham and gunmen and shells hit the eastern countryside of Homs

Idlib Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: heavy gunfire was heard this morning in Ma’ershmarin town in the southern countryside of Idlib as a result of the clashes between members of a Brigade to which a former commander in Ahrar Al-Sham used to belong, who he was assassinated last night by unknown gunmen, and between fighters who used to be affiliated to Jund Al-Aqsa, where clashes broke out between both parties, and members of the Brigade attacked the eastern outskirts of Ma’ershmarin town and set fire to the houses of the former fighters of Jund Al-Aqsa. No casualties were reported. The SOHR published last night that unknown gunmen assassinated one of the former commanders of Ahrar Al-Sham, who has recently joined Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham. He was shot dead in front of his house in Ma’ershmarin town in the southern countryside of Idlib by unidentified gunmen, also a young man was killed by a gunshot during a wedding in Sermin town east of Idlib city, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham raided several houses in Ma’arrat Herma town in the southern countryside of Idlib and arrested several persons; on charges of belonging to the “Islamic State” organization, where the town witnessed exchange of gunfire between both parties with injured several including members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham.

Homs Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: several shells fell after midnight on areas in the regime-controlled Jab Al-Jarrah village in the eastern countryside of Homs, following shelling by the regime forces on the areas of Rahom, ‘Onoq Al-Hawa and the hills surrounding the eastern countryside of Homs. No casualties were reported.
