Russian and regime’s warplanes continue to destroy what is left under the control of the “Islamic State” organization from the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah with continuous clashes in the area

Russian and regime’s warplanes continue targeting the areas that are still under the control of the “Islamic State” organization of the southern banks of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that since the dawn of today; the warplanes have carried out tens of raids targeted Madan city and several villages on the southern bank of the Euphrates River, accompanied by intensive shelling by artillery and rocket shells on the same areas, which caused destruction in the property of citizens and in the infrastructure of the area, in conjunction with continuous clashes between the regime Forces supported by the Russia armed-and-trained clan forces and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, where the regime forces are seeking to advance to the east of Ghanim al-Ali town, and to reduce the size of areas controlled by the organization, in order to end its presence in the remaining countryside of Al-Raqqah, while the displacement movement of citizens from the area is continuing towards areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces in the countryside of Al-Raqqah, in an effort by the families in the area to survive the incessant bombing that killed and injuries tens of people during the past days and weeks.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Friday that the regime forces try to end the presence of the “Islamic State” organization in its remainder sections of the southern banks of the Euphrates River, in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, by starting their new attack here, after they managed to achieve an important advancement and take the control of a number of villages in addition to their control on Ghanim al-Ali town, during the last week, supported by a cover of intensive bombing and artillery and missile shelling on remainder areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, resulting in a wide movement of displacement of hundreds of families towards areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces and the northern banks of the Euphrates River.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Friday, that it documented since the 17th of July 2017, the date in which the regime forces ended ISIS presence in the western part of the southern countryside of Al-Raqqah, till today, the 4th of August 2017, the fall of more casualties in the ranks of both the regime forces and ISIS. On one hand, the number of fatalities among members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen, of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, Liwa Al-Quds and Al-Jalil Forces rose to at least 181, including 27 officers, with different ranks, who were killed as a result of bombings, shelling and clashes with ISIS. On the other hand, the number of ISIS members, including local and field commanders, whose death was documented by the SOHR over the same period of time, rose to at least 233. Battles also caused the fall of tens of others inured among both parties.

Also Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published the day before yesterday that it observed that the Russian warplanes and the warplanes of the regime forces and helicopters have carried out dozens of strikes by missiles and explosive barrels, which targeted since the dawn of today, the city of Madan and the villages of Al- Khamisiyyeh, Al-Jaber, Qebbat al-Buhamad and Maghla Sghireh extending between  administrative border of Al-Raqqah and the western countryside of Deir Ezzor near the southern banks of the Euphrates River, in an attempt by the regime forces and the Russians to force the “Islamic State” organization to withdraw from the area, in order to advance into it and end the presence of the organization on the southern banks of the Euphrates River and the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah except a mountainous area of the extension of the strategic mountain of Al-Bashri and its vicinity
