The Egyptian-Russian truce is continuing on its sixth day without violations

Homs Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The truce of the northern countryside of Homs for the sixth consecutive days, since it was put in effect at noon on the 3rd of August 2017, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights didn’t document any violation by the regime or the factions, on the sixth day of the truce which was put in effect with a Russian-Egyptian agreement, where calmness prevails in the northern countryside of Homs, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Tuesday morning that two citizens were injured by the fall of several mortar shells, after midnight of Monday – Tuesday, launched by the regime forces on areas in the town of Teir Maalah in the northern countryside of Homs, and about 10 sells fell after midnight of Monday – Tuesday, launched by the regime forces on areas in the city of Talbiseh in the northern countryside of Homs, and no information about casualties was reported, that was a new violation of the Egyptian – Russian truce, which was put in effect on the 3rd of August 2017.

The SOHR documented new violations of the northern Homs truce yesterday. For example, the regime forces opened fire with their heavy machine-guns on places in Al-Houla area located in the northern countryside of Homs. In addition, they fired mortar shells on the same areas. They also targeted west of Talbiseh city with their heavy machine-guns, causing material damages. The SOHR also documented on Sunday intensive shelling with missiles and another using heavy machine-guns by the regime forces on the factions-controlled areas in Al-Houla. In response, the factions targeted with machine-guns and shells two of the checkpoints of the regime forces, namely Qormus and Mariameen, along with other positions of the regime forces in the northern countryside of Homs. No casualties have been reported so far. The SOHR published on Saturday night, the 5th of August 2017, that the Russian-Egyptian truce still hold on in the northern countryside of Homs, since it was put into effect on the afternoon of the 3rd  of August 2017. As a result calm prevailed the area but was interrupted by a shell that was fired by the regime forces on Al-Houla area, which caused material damages. The SOHR also published that the regime forces targeted on Saturday places in Al-Houla area with shells but no casualties were reported. It also published on Friday that the factions targeted regime-controlled areas in Tasnin village. In addition, violations were observed last Thursday when the regime forces targeted with their heavy machine guns Al-Taybah area in the northern countryside of Homs, in conjunction with targeting areas in the village of Ghernata in the same countryside by several shells. There was also an exchange of targeting between the regime forces and the factions in the northern countryside of Homs as the regime forces targeted with several artillery shells areas in the villages of Al-Farhaniyah and the town of TeirMa’alah, in conjunction with opening fire using their heavy machine guns on the outskirts of Al-Houla area. The regime forces also targeted the outskirts of TeirMa’alah town with heavy machine guns, amid shelling and opening fire using heavy machine guns on the village of Um Sharshuh near Talbiseh city in the northern countryside of Homs, causing material damages. On the other hand, the factions targeted by shells and heavy machine guns areas in the villages of Hosh Tasnin and Jabburin and other places controlled by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Homs. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented that a fighter, from an Islamic Movement, died in shelling by the regime forces on areas west of Talbiseh city in the northern countryside of Homs, while others were injured. He is considered the first person killed since the implementation of the truce in the northern countryside of Homs.
