Continued clashes with explosions and aerial bombardment in Al-Raqqah city

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the clashes are still taking place between members of the “Islamic State” organization against the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the US Special Forces in areas in the Old City, and in the vicinity of Al-Raqqah city, accompanied by a violent explosion in the area believed to be caused by the detonating a booby trapped vehicle targeting fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces, and confirmed information about casualties caused by the explosion and the clashes, while the International Coalition warplanes bombed again areas in Al-Raqqah city, and information about casualties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented on Wednesday the 16th of August 2017 the death of 17 civilians, including 5 children and 2 women, and the injury of about 30 others, as a result of the shelling of the International Coalition’s warplanes on areas in the neighborhoods of the Old City and other areas in the center of the city, rising to at least 38, including 10 children below the age of 18 and 4 women over the age of 18, the number of casualties who were killed during the past 48 hours since Monday the 14th of August 2017 until now.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of at least 10 persons including 2 children and 1 citizen woman, they were killed in the past 24 hours, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, the airstrikes also caused material damage and destruction to the property of citizens.
