Renewed violent clashes in Jobar and Ein Tarma, east of Damascus and at the outskirts of the Ghouta

The SOHR learned that violent clashes erupted again at dawn today, the 17th of August 2017, between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and Al-Rahman Corps on the other in Ein Tarma in the Eastern Ghouta. Simultaneously, clashes broke out between both parties and were accompanied by an exchange of shelling in Al-Manasher area in Jobar neighborhood, located at the eastern outskirts of Damascus. Casualties were reported at both sides.

The SOHR published last night that the regime forces targeted Ein Tarma town and its surroundings with 20 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, raising the total number of missiles fired by the regime forces on the town since yesterday’s morning to around 56. The SOHR also published that clashes continued between the regime forces and their allied militiamen, of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, on one hand and Al-Rahman Corps on the other in areas in the vicinity of Ein Tarma town and in its Valley. Information was reported that the regime forces managed to take control of buildings in the area, expanding its scope of control, under the cover of intensive shelling on areas of clashes. Casualties were reported at both sides as a result of the exchange of shelling and clashes.
