After tearing the “Islamic State” organization apart in the Desert … The regime forces regain control of 4 oil fields and more than a 1000 sq km during about 24 hours

The Syrian Desert is witnessing escalation of level of the military operation carried out by the regime forces, supported by gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and by a cover of Russian raids and intensive artillery shelling, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the clashes continued during the last night till now, between members of “The Islamic state” organization on one hand, and the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them on the other, at the points of contact between the two parties, which extend along the line of encirclement, where the regime forces managed to take control of the entire Uqayribat Township and the eastern and north-eastern countryside of Salamiyah and the areas of Al-Jarrah mountain and the mountains of Shomariyyeh, which are located in the countryside of Hama and which are contacted with the countryside of Salamiyah, coincide with continuous fighting between the advanced forces of the regime from Ithrayya and the advanced forces from Al-Kom area, to achieve more advancement and reduce the size of the remaining distance between them in the far north-east of Homs.

This advancement achieved by the regime forces during 24 hours in the eastern countryside of Homs enabled them to regain control of an area of about 1000 sq km of the Syrian Desert. The regime forces also managed to regain control of the Twinan gas field, the gas station and the Twinan gas laboratory, in addition to the control of the fields of Akram, Ghadir and west of Al-Hussein, while the regime forces are continuing their clash supported by a cover of intensive Russian shelling and artillery and missile shelling accompanying them, they managed to achieve more advancement and left a little distance separating the advanced forces of the regime from the side of Athrayya from the advanced forces from the side of Wahat Al-Kom , this advancement enabled to regain the control of about 1000 sq km in the north of this line of advancement, accompanied by the start of sweeping this area, after The withdrawal of most of the members of the organization from the area, and confirmed information about killing more members in the ranks of both parties during the explosions, shelling and clashes between the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the regime forces, after advancing within the past 24 hours in areas south of Ithriyah and going deep into the borders of Hama with Homs province, near Sha’er Mountain in the eastern desert of Homs, managed to achieve a new strategic advancement and managed to meet their forces coming from Sha’er Mountain, and hence the regime forces were able to impose the first siege on the “Islamic State” organization in the Syrian Desert, and encircled about an area of 3 thousand kilometer square controlled by the organization that includes about 50 village and several oil and gas fields and wells, this area is extending from the fronts of Jub al-Jerah and al-Shumariya Mountain, which is about 50 square km away from Homs city to the fronts of the countryside of the western and northwest countryside of Salmiyah and Sha’er Mountain front. This encirclement comes within the greatest encirclement the regime forces are trying to implement which would besiege the organization in area of 7800 controlled by the organization in the Syrian desert in the provinces of Homs and Hama, and if the regime forces managed to advance in an area of about 25 km which is the remaining distance between their forces coming from al-Kom area in the far northeast of Homs province, and the forces stationed in the north of al-Sukhnah, and the advancement operation is accompanied with continued clashes that have been taking place since days between the regime force backed by militiamen loyal to then against members of the “Islamic State” organization in areas in the eastern countryside of Salmiyah in the eastern countryside of Hama, in which the regime forces managed to advance within the past 48 hours in hills and positions of the organization in the areas of Dakila and Salba.

Also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 16th of August 2017 that the regime forces managed to achieve advancement and take control of a number of areas, villages and highlands, up to the area of Al-Fasedah, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the clashes are taking place in an attempt by the regime forces to keep their positions, and fortify them against the attacks by the organization, which aims to regain control of these areas it lost, while the regime forces seek to reach the area of  Jabal Sha’ir and Twenan Field, and carrying out operations of cutting, wrapping and encirclement in the areas, within a large operation of encirclement aimed by the organization through the continuous clashes in the area of Al-Kum and the north of Al-Sukhnah city, where there is a remainder distance of less than 25 km and it separates the regime forces to meet in these two areas “Al-Kum and Al-Sukhnah ” opposite to each other.
