More airstrikes increase the number of casualties to about 40 people during the past 48 hours within the escalation of massacres against the citizens in Al-Raqqah city

Al-Raqqah Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: a woman and her mother were killed by a landmine explosion while they were trying to escape from areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in the city, and reach areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces in the city, while clashes are taking place between the SDF supported by the US Special Forces on one hand, and the members of the organization on the other, in areas in the Old City and in the vicinity of the center of Al-Raqqah City, in an attempt by each party to achieve advancement at the expense of the other, while the warplanes of the International Coalition carried out more strikes that targeted positions of the organization and its controlled areas in Al-Raqqah City, the warplanes of the International Coalition also bombed areas north of Al-Raqqah City but no information about casualties

In the same context, the number of casualties who were killed during the past 48 hours by bombing by warplanes of the International Coalition on areas in the city of Al-Raqqah has increased to 39 people at least, including 11 children and 9 citizen women, the bombing also resulted in the death and the loss of dozens of citizens in the areas which were shelled, thus, the number of casualties who were documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since the afternoon of Monday the 14th of August 2017 till the 19th of August 2017 has increased to 98 people, including 33 children under the age of eighteen, and 19 citizen women over the age of eighteen, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of injuries in serious cases, and due to the presence of missing persons who are not known whether they were killed or they still alive.
