35 missiles by the regime forces interrupt the calm prevailing in the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta

The regime forces renew their shelling interrupting the calm that has been prevailing in the Eastern Ghouta for about 36 hours. The SOHR observed that the regime forces targeted after midnight with 33 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, areas at the outskirts of Ein Tarma and its valley and other areas in Jobar neighborhood, causing material damages only. Calm then prevailed again in the the towns and cities of the Eastern Ghouta and the eastern neighborhoods of Damascus.

The SOHR published last night that cautious calm has been prevailing in the Eastern Ghouta for about 36 hours but was interrupted by the fall of a shell on an area at the outskirts of ‘Arbin town. However, no casualties were reported. Other cities and towns also witnessed a prevailing calm only to be interrupted with the fall of one shell in the afternoon on an area at the outskirts of Jesrin town. Likewise, no casualties were reported. The de-escalation is still ongoing, though, in terms of the shelling by the regime forces, the fighting between the factions operating in the Eastern Ghouta, and in terms of clashes between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand, and the fighters of Al-Rahman Corps on the other. The SOHR also published yesterday that the regime forces targeted areas in Jobar neighborhood with 3 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground. They also launched an artillery shell on an area in Hamriya city and another on areas at the outskirts of Saqba city, leaving a child injured. In addition, they fired another shell on KafrBatna town, in conjunction with the firing of 2 more on areas at the outskirts of Hosh Al-Dawahra town in Al-Marj area, causing material damages. However, no casualties were reported. In addition, the regime forces targeted areas in Hazza town in the Eastern Ghouta with about 15 artillery shells, which resulted in the injury of 3 persons. This shelling followed the calmness that prevailed the Eastern Ghouta in the previous night. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published the day before yesterday that a shell fired by the regime forces fell on an area in the town of Saqba in the Eastern Ghouta, causing material damages only. The city of Zamalka, which is controlled by Al-Rahman Corps and which is considered their stronghold in the Eastern Ghouta, was also targeted with two artillery shells, resulting in the death of a man and a woman. This shelling coincided with the firing of a shell on an area in Hamouriyah city, which is controlled by the Al-Rahman Corps, resulting in the death of three civilians, a man, his wife and their two children. The corpse of one of their children was deformed. The death toll is still likely to rise because 6 of the injured are in a critical condition. The regime forces also fired an artillery shell on an area in the city of Douma, which is controlled by Jaysh al-Islam, leaving 6 people injured. In addition, the regime forces fired two shells on areas in Ein Tarma town, which is controlled by Al-Rahman Corps and shelled the town of Kafr Batna. No casualties were reported at both locations. The regime forces also fired 5 missiles, believed to be ground-ground, on areas in Jobar Neighborhood. Likewise, no casualties were reported.
