After about 100 days… warplanes of the International Coalition and the Russian warplanes kill more than 500 citizens, including about 300 children and citizen women in Deir Ezzor Province
The human situation is getting worse in Deir Ezzor, with the lack of food, and ISIS continues to arrest the young men under the pretext of “conscription”
With the attention turning to Deir Ezzor Province which has the largest presence of the “Islamic State” organization, which controls most of the province except for areas controlled by regime forces in the city and its vicinity and the far western desert, and areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces in the north-western countryside of the city, the tragedy of the province is increasing, and its human and alimentary situation is getting worse and worse day after day, with the escalation of air strikes on the city and its eastern, western, northern and southern countryside, whether by regime’s warplanes, the International Coalition’s warplanes or the Russian warplanes, which destroy the infrastructure and target civilian houses under the pretext of “fighting the Islamic State organization”, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed the lack of alimentary and medical supplies in the whole province, where some of the main products and victuals such as milk, baby food, oils, margarine, canned goods, vegetables and fruits were cut off, while rice, sugar and tea are found at high prices, as the prices increase in a way that is inversely proportional to the lack of purchasing ability of the citizens whose most businesses stopped as a result of the weakness of the purchase abilities and the lack of a market for selling goods, and because most of the owners of funds, professions and important industries have left the areas controlled by ISIS in Deir Ezzor, while a number of reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that one of the main reasons for worsening the human conditions in the areas controlled by the organization in Deir Ezzor, is the bombing by warplanes on food trucks which are trying to enter these areas, while citizens turned to grow eggplant and okra and what can be grown of vegetables in the area, in an attempt to get what their families need in order not to be hungry, in such situations which are worsening day after day without any attention by the international or regional communities.
This increased bombing escalates with approach of the military operations to the deep of Deir Ezzor province, by regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and Russian trained-and-armed clan forces, who are trying to advance to regain control of Deir Ezzor province, where the organization controls most of it, while ISIS continues to arrest young men, men and boys from the villages, towns and cities of Deir Ezzor under the pretext of ” un-enrollment in the conscription”, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the ISIS hurried to arresting citizens to its camps and to the fighting fronts, with the escalation of the displacement of young men, men and families from Deir Ezzor Province to other Syrian areas, to escape from joining the ranks of the organization, which threatened that whomever does not join voluntarily will be forced to join the “recruitment”, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed that the ISIS carried out raids and arrested dozens of young men, amid the continuation of the displacement of citizens from the areas controlled by ISIS to other areas outside them as a result of continuous escalation by warplanes of the International Coalition as well as Russian warplanes, since the 22nd of May 2017, the date of the escalation of the shelling on Deir Ezzor villages, until they received the decision of ISIS about the ” conscription “, which increased their tragedy, and which forced the citizens to leave and escape from a death of another kind in which citizens are being forced to go to their death, this decision which imposed by the organization on young men aged 20-30 years, and force them to join the camps of the organization to being recruited, in order to “repel the attack of Nusayris against the land of the Islamic State in al-Khayr State” and warning those who do not join voluntarily; that they will be forced to join to “recruitment”, in which reliable sources reported to SOHR that the majority of the displaced people are escaping to the countryside of Aleppo, Al-Hasakah and Al-Rokban.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented since the 22nd of May 2017 the date of the start of intense bombing by warplanes of International Coalition on al-Mayadin city, causing massacres and killing and injuring hundreds of people, along with escalation of bombing by warplanes of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in the same period which is between the 22nd of May 2017 until the 22 of August 2017, the SOHR observed recently that the role of killing and carrying out airstrikes has been handed over by the International Coalition to the Russian who have been sending their jets almost on a daily basis to shell the eastern and western countryside of Deir Ezzor, causing casualties. This coincided with the entry of the regime forces into the administrative borders of the Province and the proximity of the operations taking place in most of the areas of Al-Raqqah and Homs to the borders of Deir Ezzor Province. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 282 people in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor since the beginning of the escalation on the 22nd of July. Such casualties include 101 children and 83 women. Specifically, 86 civilians including 33 children below the age of eighteen and 26 women above the age of eighteen, were killed in shelling by the International Coalition on the city. In addition, 42 prisoners were killed by the airstrikes of the International Coalition on the house of Abu Abdullah al-Nuaimi, a former leader in Al-Nusra Front (Al-Qaeda organization in the Levant), who was executed earlier by the “Islamic State”, and whose house was seized and turned into a prison affiliated with ISIS Security Apparatus. The prison was divided into two main parts, one for holding civilians and the other for prisoners that belong to ISIS. Moreover, 154 members of the families ISIS members, including 68 children and 57 women, were killed in airstrikes on Al-Dahmoush building near the government Complex, known as Al-Saraya and on Al-Shaker cafe in al-Mayadin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The 4-storey building was mostly inhabited by families of members of the organization, of Syrian and Moroccan nationalities.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented the death of 67 persons, including 10 children and 10 women due to shelling by warplanes affiliated with the international coalition on areas in Al-Bukamal, Beqres, Abu al-Neitel, Al-Quriyah, Al-Basira, Jadid Ekydat, Al-Sabha and several other areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, in addition to several others who have been seriously injured.
In addition, the SOHR documented the death of 159 civilians, including 43 children below the age of eighteen and 36 women above the age of eighteen, following airstrikes carried out by the Russian and the regime’s warplanes on areas in Deir Ezzor city and other areas in the eastern and western countryside of the city.
