Shelling interrupts the calm prevailing the Eastern Ghouta

The Eastern Ghouta is witnessing prevailing calm since dawn today following the several missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, that were fired by the regime forces on areas in Jobar neighborhood at the eastern outskirts of Damascus, and other areas at the outskirts of Ein Tarma town in the Eastern Ghouta, causing material damages.  In addition, a young man was shot dead by a sniper of the regime forces in the vicinity of Al-Balaliyah area in the Eastern Ghouta. A man also died when a landmine blew up while he was searching for some firewood at the outskirts of Jobar neighborhood. Reliable sources confirmed to the SOHR that the landmine exploded when the man approached contact lines between the regime forces and the factions.

The SOHR published yesterday morning that the regime forces interrupted the calm prevailing Damascus and the Eastern Ghouta by targeting areas there. The SOHR documented the launch of four missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, by the regime forces on areas in Jobar neighborhood at the outskirts of Damascus and two more missiles on areas in Ein Tarma town and its surroundings, causing material damages only. No casualties were reported. The SOHR published on Friday night that the Eastern Ghouta and the eastern outskirts of Damascus were witnessing a prevailing calm in terms of shelling by the regime forces and the fighting between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and Al-Rahman Corps on the other at their contact lines. The SOHR also published on Friday yesterday morning that the regime forces shelled areas in Al-Zorayqa town in the Eastern Ghouta, causing material damages only. The regime forces also escalated their shelling after midnight on Friday on places in Jobar neighborhood, located at the eastern outskirts of Damascus and on other areas in Ein Tarma town and its surroundings in the Eastern Ghouta. The SOHR learned that the regime forces targeted both areas with about 20 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, causing material damages only.
