Following Al-Shaddadi attack yesterday … an explosion rocks an area near to it in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah
Al-Hasakah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: an explosion was heard this morning followed by shooting near Sabah Al-Kheir Silos in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah. No information has been reported so far about the reasons behind the explosion. The SOHR published yesterday that explosions shocked Al-Shaddadi area in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah. The SOHR learned that the explosions were caused by an attack by ISIS on the SDF-controlled city. Sources confirmed to the SOHR that violent clashes took place between ISIS members and SDF fighters while more than six ISIS suicide bombers blew up themselves using explosive belts, targeting SDF positions and one of their main sites. Casualties were reported at the latter’s side. Meanwhile, sweeping operations are still ongoing at the outskirts of the city to ensure no ISIS members are hiding there. Several attackers were killed before blowing themselves up. The SOHR learned that the attackers were wearing an outfit similar to the SDF military uniform so that they could easily infiltrate.
