Under a cover of intensive Russian bombing … The regime forces by firearm lift the siege of Deir Ezzor Military Airport

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the out skirts of Deir Ezzor city are witnessing violent clashes accompanied by intensive shelling, in which the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights observed fierce clashes, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on one hand, and the members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other, in places in the area separates between the two blocs which are besieged by the organization, in the south-east and south-west sections of Deir Ezzor city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from a number of reliable sources that the regime farces managed to achieve rapid advancement under a cover of Russian intensive aerial bombing on Al-Maqaber area, within their surprising military operation to lift the siege of Deir Ezzor Military Airport, where the regime forces managed after taking the control of heights in the outskirts of Al-Maqaber area, to achieve more advancement and impose their firearm control over the rest of the area between the bloc which is under their control and related to Deir Ezzor Military Airport, and which consists of Al-Tahtoh and Harabesh neighborhoods and large parts of Al-Rasafa neighborhood in the south-east section of the city, and the part related to the Brigade 137, which consists of Jam’eyyat Al-Zohur and the neighborhoods of Al-Jorah and Al-Qosur and a part of Al-Hwiqah and Al-Rashdiyah neighborhoods and parts of Al-Jabilah and Al-Mowazzafin neighborhoods in the south-western section of the city, and it is expected in the next hours that the regime forces will manage to control militarily and humanly the remaining area between the military airport and neighborhoods related to the Brigade 137, after the “Islamic State” organization managed in January 2017, to take the control of this area and impose a second siege inside the first siege imposed on Deir Ezzor city since the beginning of 2015.

These violent clashes are accompanied by the continuation of the Russian warplanes as well as the regime’s warplanes to carry out intensive violent raids on areas in the outskirts of the city and on the clash areas and the controlled areas of the organization and other areas in the west of the city and on the banks of the Euphrates River, and confirmed information that the clashes, explosions, intensive shelling and violent raids resulted in the death and the injury of tens of members in the ranks of the both parties, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that explosions are still being heard in Deir Ezzor town and its countryside, as a result of escalating the level of the violent fighting more and more, in addition to the continuation by the Russian as well as the regime’s warplanes and helicopters to target areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization and its locations in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor Military Airport, and the outskirts of Deir Ezzor city and the area which separates between the two besieged blocs in the north-west and south-west of Deir Ezzor city, amid violent clashes between the regime forces supported by militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on one hand, and members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other, in areas in the vicinity of Al-Maqaber area, which separates the bloc of the Brigade 137 as well as the neighborhoods related to it, and the bloc of Deir Ezzor Military Airport as well as the neighborhoods related to it, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces managed to take the control of heights in the area, and advance in tens of meters towards Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

And in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, the violent fighting is continuing between the regime forces supported by militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on one hand, and the members of the “Islamic state” organization on the other, in areas at the main artery of Deir Ezzor, which is Deir Ezzor – Al-Sukhnah – Damascus Road, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces managed to impose their full control over Al-Shawla town and advanced towards the western entrance to Deir Ezzor city, reducing the distance between them and Panorama roundabout at the entrance of Deir Ezzor city, to about 16 km, and the advancement took place under a cover of intensive violent shelling by the regime forces and the Russian as well as the regime’s warplanes, which caused confirmed casualties in the ranks of the both parties, also the “Islamic State” organization set fire to oil wells south of the road of Deir Ezzor – al-Sukhnah – Damascus, which is the main artery of Deir Ezzor city, where the regime forces are trying to take control over it to enter more  humanitarian aid conveys, and to start allowing citizens to get in and out of Deir Ezzor city.
