In a first popular stand of its kind… locals protest to stop the execution of a Syrian civilian by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham

Idlib Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Popular discontent prevails the town of Kafruma, amid protests by the locals in the town near Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored tens of civilians protesting and ignited tires and blocking roads within and around the town, rejecting the decision of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham of carrying out a death sentence against a young man from the town, on charges of “insulting the Prophet”, where the citizens are demanding the death sentence to be canceled and the punishment to be mitigated, while the area is witnessing an alert state by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham out of fears of the development of this discontent and tension in the town, where this is considered as the first demonstration against the decision of executing civilians in Idlib and most of the Syrian territory, and Idlib province witnessed earlier executions of tens of civilians including citizen women based on “Sharia, moral and military” accusations.
