The regime forces achieve wide advancement in the outskirts of Deir Ezzor city and restore the whole of Al-Bogeleyyah and military positions they lost in an attack in the beginning of 2016

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes are still taking place between the regime forces supported by militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on one hand, and the members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other, in which reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces managed to achieve important advancement by completing their control of the whole area of Al-Bogeleyyah and taking the control of the arsenals, al-Hajjana Regiment, the Thunderbolt camp and the broadcasting area, and the operation of advancement carried out by a cover of intensive violent shelling and attack by firearm forces the remained members of the organization to withdraw from the area, in which the regime forces aim by this advancement to increase their scope of control in the vicinity of the city and its outskirts, before starting a violent in the city in which more than two thirds of its area controlled by the organization.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that finishing the operation of lifting the siege on Deir Ezzor city completes its first 72 hours, after the regime forces managed to open the artery coming from Damascus, and the operation of lifting the siege was carried out on 3 stages the first was to lift the siege on the Brigade 137, then lifting the siege of Deir Ezzor Military Airport and the bloc of neighborhoods related to it, and the third stage was to reach the western entrance of Deir Ezzor city at the area of Panorama area after taking the control of Damascus – Deir Ezzor road, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed during the past 24 hours intensive violent shelling by artillery shells and tanks of the regime forces accompanied by dozens of raids by Russian as well as the regime’s warplanes and helicopters, which were accompanied by a violent attack in which the regime forces failed to reach Hwejat Kate’ in the Euphrates River, where these forces tried to achieve advancement during Al-Hwiqa neighborhood, within desperate attempts by the regime forces to besiege the organization in the city or force it to withdraw before encircling the city.

Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces which control about 64.3% of the area pf Deir Ezzor which is 34.7 square kilometers, are trying to shorten the military operation in Deir Ezzor and hurry to finish it, to achieve “morale victory” by repeating the attempts to besiege the whole city, and to force the “Islamic State” organization to withdraw from areas of its control which are 35.7% of the area of the city, in order not to turn the military operation by the regime into street war which will result in falling casualties in the ranks of them, especially the regime forces intend to head after Deir Ezzor city, to control its countryside.

The regime forces lost Al-Bogeleyyah area at the beginning of 2016, after a sudden and violent attack carried out by the organization on the 16th of January 2016, where the Syrian Observatory documented back then that at least 120 members and officers of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were killed, 40 of them at least were executed in al-Bogeleyyah area, also 70 members of the “Islamic State” organization were killed and at least 28 of them detonated themselves up in booby trapped vehicles or explosive belts, also Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented back then the death of at least 135 persons and members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, where the Observatory was informed by several reliable sources that among the 135 who were killed and executed, there are at least 50 members from the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed and executed during the “Islamic state” attack on Al-Bogeleyyah area up to the outskirts of al-Jura area and detonating booby trapped vehicles and carrying out executions, in addition to the presence of 85 persons from the families of the members of NDF, national army and Baathists from the city, while 42 member from the “Islamic State” organization (including 12 infiltrators and members who blew themselves up with explosive belts in the same attack) were killed, where back then the “Islamic State” organization kidnapped about 400 persons of civilians and family members of the regime forces, but later the “Islamic State” organization released about 250 of them.
