​The regime forces crossing the Euphrates with Russian support carry out a massacre against 13 civilians in the first village they control

Deir Ezzor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: local sources in the east of the Euphrates River told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that they found dead bodies of 13 civilians, who were shot in the area of Marat located opposite to Deir Ezzor military base near the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, where the local sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that they found the 13 citizens, including women, in  Marat area, after the regime forces reached the outskirts of the river, and the local sources asserted that these citizens were trying to flee the military operation and reach safe areas, but the Euphrates-crossing regime forces stopped them on the 18th of September, telling them that they are their ‘friends” and that the area is under the regime’s control but some of them continued their way to displace to areas in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, but the regime forces and their allied militiamen opened fire at them and others existed in the area, killing them all. The SOHR published on the 18th of September 2017 that scouting forces of the regime forces crossed the Euphrates River to the eastern bank of it which is opposite Deir Ezzor city under a Russian cover, through water crossing following intensive shelling by the regime forces that targeted the area opposite to Deir Ezzor military base and the areas of Jafra and Mariyah which were recently controlled by the regime forces.
