After advancing towards al-Siwar, the forces of “Jazeera Storm” operation control oil field while advancing towards the eastern banks of the Euphrates

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the heavy clashes are still ongoing between the forces of the Deir Ezzor military council and the US Special Forces and the YPG forces on one hand and the members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other hand in areas located east of the Euphrates River,  in the northern and northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the “Al-Jazeera Storm” forces managed to advance and control a gas station and oil fields located west of the Euphrates River in the northwest of the city of Deir Ezzor, where the military operations are ongoing with heavy shelling and intensive flying of the international coalition’s warplanes and targeting on the areas of the organization at in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, and there is confirmed information on human losses in the ranks of both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the entry of military convoy carrying equipment, weapons, ammunition and military vehicles coming from the Iraqi side. Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the convoy which includes tens of trucks headed on the international Highway towards Qameshly, and the sources suggested to the Syrian Observatory that the convoy headed towards the countryside of Deir Ezzor to participate in “Jazeera Storm” Operation in the southern the countryside of Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.

The Syrian Observatory also published yesterday that the Syria Democratic Forces managed to achieve significant advancement in the north of Deir Ezzor city, as they took control of the entire industrial city and other areas reaching a distance of about 14 km from the town of Siwar near the administrative border of the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor with the southern countryside of Hasaka, while this advancement came along the road between the eastern banks opposite to the city of Deir Ezzor and the area of Siwar and the southern countryside of Hasaka, amid aerial bombardment by the International Coalition’s warplanes and shelling by “Jazeera Storm” operation forces

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that it is expected that a large military operation will be carried out in the next hours led by Deir Ezzor Military Council of the Syria Democratic Forces, and supported by the International Coalition warplanes and the US Special Forces, in which the military operation aims to control the area extended from the southern countryside of Al-Shaddadi which is located in the south of Al-Hasakah province, to the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that it obtained information from reliable sources that it is expected for a military operation to start during the next few days in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, which is connected to Deir Ezzor countryside and to the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, where reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that Deir Ezzor Military Council of the Syria Democratic Forces is preparing to start a large military operation that aims to end the presence of the “Islamic State” organization in the rest of Al-Hasakah province and in the countryside of Deir Ezzor east of the Euphrates River, the sources confirmed to the SOHR that Deir Ezzor Military Council will lead the military operation from two main points; one of them starts from the southern countryside of Al-Shaddadi, and the other one starts from the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor towards the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, which is known as “Al-Jazeera line” along the river, while US Special Forces arrived to the area to participate in this military operation which is supported by the International Coalition.

​ ​ And reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on the 25th of August 2017 that coordination took place with Deir Ezzor Military Council in order to start simultaneous military operations, in which Deir Ezzor Military Council from the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and from the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah will start these operations towards the north of Deir Ezzor, and the sources confirmed that this division in the scope of operations came according to the clans’ concentrations in the area, in which Deir Ezzor Military Council with its allied forces will start from areas where the sons of the clan fighters of Deir Ezzor Military Council are concentrated.
