Agreement east of Hama countryside between ISIS and regime forces ends the existence of the organization in Hama Province

After the killing of about 450 members in the clashes of the eastern countryside of Hama, the “Islamic State” organization loses its presence in Hama after about 3 months of being expelled from Aleppo Province

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from several intersecting sources that an agreement had been reached between the “Islamic State” organization and the regime forces in the eastern Hama countryside, where cross-sources confirmed that the agreement provides for the exit of hundreds of members with their families from the remaining villages under the control of the organization in the eastern countryside of Hama, and camps will be built in the eastern countryside of Salamiyah city for those citizens who remained in the eastern countryside of Hama; until the completion of the sweeping the eastern countryside of Hama. The operations of getting ISIS members and their families out of the villages that still under the control of the organization in the eastern countryside of Hama will take place in the coming hours, but the agreement did not show the fate of the villages that still under the control of the “Islamic State” organization in the Triangle of Jeb al-Jarrah – Shomariyyeh –Shaer Mountains, while the sources suggested to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the remaining villages that still under the control of the organization in this triangle may be added to the agreement later. And with the implementation of the agreement the “Islamic State” organization loses its presence in Hama province, after losing its presence in the entire Aleppo Province at the end of June 2017.

This agreement comes after violent clashes lasted for 18 days between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, accompanied with hundreds of raids, missiles and shells that targeted the eastern countryside of Hama and displaced hundreds of families and also killed and injured tens of them, as well as hundreds of the organization’s members and regime forces; members since the 3rd of September 2017, where it rose to 443 at least ,the number of casualties of both parties since the 3rd of September 2017 until the 21st of September 2017, where it rose to 305 at least; the number of organization members who were killed and documented by the observatory, including more than 32 members who blew themselves up with a booby trapped vehicles and explosive belts, while it rose to 138; the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them who were killed in the bombing and clashes, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received information that members of the “Islamic State” organization in the eastern countryside of Hama retains the bodies or wounded members of the Russian forces who were killed and injured in the eastern countryside of Hama.
