Regime forces advance east of Euphrates in conjunction with new offensive at the administrative border between Homs and Deir Ezzor
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes continued between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas at the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, the Syrian Observatory monitored violent clashes accompanied by intense shelling by the regime forces on the clash areas, during which the regime forces were able to achieve more advancement in area, where they managed to advancement to the north of Marat village and controlled the area starting from the village to the railroad near the road to Al-Busayrah village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory received information that violent clashes and shelling in conjunction with Russian airstrikes on the area have caused casualties in the ranks of both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human rights published hours ago that the death toll is still increasing in the ranks of the regime forces and their allied militiamen backed by the Russian forces, where it rose to 79, including at least 7 members of the Russian forces, the number of the regime forces and their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed by ISIS members in their violent and repel attacks on the regime forces-held areas and their car bombs and suicide belts targeting these areas in the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, also tens were injured with different severity, some of whom are still in serious conditions, which may increase the death toll.
These clashes east of Euphrates River come in conjunction with clashes between the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas at the administrative border between the provinces of Homs and Deir Ezzor, after an offensive started by the regime forces in Hmimiyyeh area and its vicinity and near the T2 Station in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, with the aim of advancing in the area to end the presence of the “Islamic State” organization in the Deir Ezzor province, the clashes were accompanied by counterattacks carried out by the organization on regime forces’ positions areas, and detonating one booby trapped vehicle at least, while the regime forces shelled intensely the organization’ controlled points and locations in the area, but no information about casualties.
