In order to regain what they lost… regime forces carry out a counter attack inside Al-Qaryatayn city and in Sukhnah Desert with a cover of intense shelling

The violent clashes continue between groups of the “Islamic State” organization which carried out the extensive offensive in the Syrian Desert, against the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes are still taking place in Al-Qaryatayn city, located in the southeastern countryside of Homs, and in an area stretching from the western desert of Deir Ezzor to the eastern countryside of Homs, where the “Islamic State” organization is trying by carrying out successive attacks to control more areas, after being able to control Al-Qaryatayn city, al-Tayba town, Dahek mountain, hills, heights and areas of the Syrian Desert, were the regime forces advanced supported by a cover of Russian aerial bombardment and intense shelling by their forces, while the regime forces started a violent counterattack trying to regain control of al-Qaryatayn city, amid advancement for the regime forces inside the city, also the regime forces are trying to restore al-Dahek mountain and al-Tayba town north of Sukhnah city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces carrying out intensive artillery and rocket attacks amid intense raids by Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes on the organization’s sites and on the areas to which the organization advanced to, and information about more casualties and wounded in the ranks of both parties.

And Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that it documented the death of 128 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, including 50 members at least of non-Syrian nationalities including 20 members at least of the Lebanese Hezbollah, who were killed during about 48 hours of the counter attacks by the organization on the 28th and the 29th of September 2017, in addition to the death of 90 members at least of ISIS of who were killed by blowing themselves up by using suicidal belts and by booby trapped vehicles and in artillery and rocket shelling and raids and clashes against the regime forces in the areas where they attacked, where the organization managed to recover Al-Shawla, Kabajeb and the mountain which is overlooking on Al-Sukhnah and other positions and areas where the regime forces managed to advance into, in the areas extended from the west of Deir Ezzor to the south-eastern countryside of Homs, before the regime forces returned to recover most of the areas they lost, while many areas are still witnessing clashes of hit-and-run between the both parties.
