Damascus bombings death toll increased to 16 at least of civilians and regime’s members

Damascus Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that at least 16 persons were killed in the explosions that rocked Al-Midan neighborhood in the center of the capital Damascus, and these explosions wounded a large number of people some of them are still in dangerous situation. Several reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that 3 explosions hit Al-Midan neighborhood in the center of the capital Damascus, where the first explosion was caused by a booby trapped car which exploded near al-Midan Police Department, then a person detonated himself with an explosive belt, and after that a second person also detonated himself with an explosive belt, which caused a considerable material damage, killing and injuring tens of people, and among the casualties there are 4 civilians and 4 unidentified persons, while the rest of them are members of the regime forces.

This explosion is the first of its kind in terms of method of targeting the place, by booby-traps and persons detonating themselves with explosive belts, however, back in the middle of December 2016, Al-Midan Police Department was targeted with an explosion carried out by a child, where she was booby-trapped by her father known as Abu Nimr al-Suri, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 16th of December 2016 that Abdul Rahman Shaddad, known as “Abu Nimr al-Suri” the security leader, who used to work under the cloak of Jabhat Al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Levant), he booby-trapped his daughter Fatima and detonated her in the middle of the capital Damascus, later he was assassinated on the 25th of December 2016 in Teshreen neighborhood on the outskirts of capital Damascus by gunshots that hit him directly and killed him, leaving the mystery surrounds the fate and the whereabouts of his daughter Islam and his wife Om Nimr, reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian observatory for human rights that she helped him to booby-trap the child girl Fatima, who was detonated at sunset on the 16th of December 2016, and the child girl Islam, who the sources confirmed that she was booby-trapped also to be detonated elsewhere in the capital Damascus, but that decision was canceled for unknown reasons until now, the sources suggested that it may be because she wasn’t able to reach the target specified.
