Fierce clashes between the regime forces and the “Islamic State” organization in Hmimeh area on the border between Homs and Deir Ezzor and the clashes continue in al-Qaryatayn and al-Sukhnah area

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces supported by their loyal gunmen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas located at the administrative border between the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and the eastern countryside of Homs, where the clashes were concentrated in places at Hmimeh area where the organization carried out an attack on it hours ago, amid advancement by the organization in the area, and preliminary information about its control of large parts of the area, amid intense shelling by the regime forces on the clash areas, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties, while the clashes continue between the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them in Al-Qaryatayn city in the southeastern countryside of Homs, in conjunction with violent clashes east and north of Sukhnah city in the eastern countryside of Homs, amid shelling by the regime forces in areas controlled by the organization on al-Dahek Mountain and al-Tayba town and other areas in al-Sukhnah Desert, and information about more human losses, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that These violent clashes which ISIS aimed through them, to retake the control of the areas it lost during the past months and weeks, and to cause the biggest number of casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and scatter their forces in the Syrian desert, resulted in killing more members in the ranks of he both parties and injuring others in with varying degrees of severity, to raise to 336 the number of casualties of in the ranks of he both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, since the 28th of September 2017, until the 3rd of October 2017, in which the death toll rose to 186 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, including 26 members at least of the Lebanese Hezbollah and about 80 members of the militiamen loyal to the regime forces of Palestinian and Asian nationalities, while the death toll rose to about 150 members of ISIS of who were killed by blowing themselves up by using suicidal belts and by booby trapped vehicles and in artillery and rocket shelling and raids and clashes against the regime forces in the areas where they attacked, where the organization managed to recover Al-Shawla, Kabajeb and the mountain which is overlooking on Al-Sukhnah and other positions and areas where the regime forces managed to advance into, in the areas extended from the west of Deir Ezzor to the south-eastern countryside of Homs, before the regime forces returned to recover most of the areas they lost, while many areas are still witnessing clashes of hit-and-run between the both parties.
