Raids escalate targeting Hama countryside and the south of Idlib with the continuation of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham its attack on an important village at the contact lines between the controlled areas of the factions and the controlled areas of the regime forces
The violent clashes are still continuing between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them in several areas in the north-eastern countryside of Hama, they are the area of Abu Dali and the areas of Al-Tulaysiyah, Al-Mshirfah, Al-Talah Al-Sawdaa, Al-Shatheh and Al-Qahirah, the north-eastern countryside of Hama, as a result of the violent and continuous attack since the dawn of Friday the 6th of October 2017, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions managed to advance and take the control of points in the outskirts of Abu Dali area, in an attempt to take the control of this village which reliable sources confirmed that it is important, because it’s considered a crossing point and a link between the controlled areas of the factions and the controlled areas of the regime forces, and it was also the contact point with the eastern countryside of Hama where the “Islamic State” organization located, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that warplanes carried out intensive raids targeted areas in Khan Shaykhun city and the towns and the villages of Tell Maraq, Al-Hamdania, Umm Elkhalayel, Tell Khanzir, Al-Romaydin, Dajaj, Tama and Al-Qahirah, in the area between the south-eastern countryside of Idlib and the north-eastern countryside of Hama, in conjunction with exchange of shelling between the both parties, amid bombing by helicopters by explosive barrels, on areas in Abu Omar village in the eastern countryside of Idlib, the regime forces also renewed their shelling on areas in Al-Taman’aa town in the southern countryside of Idlib, and no information about casualties was reported.
And reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that this battle comes after great preparations by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions, and it also comes to renew the battle of “the last attempt”, which Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions started on the 19th of September 2017, and stopped few days ago after the regime forces managed to recover the areas they lost for the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham.
It is noteworthy that this battle of the last attempt, comes in an effort by the factions to achieve advancement in the area and take the control of the villages which close the distance between them and the strategic mountain of Zayn Al-Abidin and Hama city, while this battle comes after preparations lasted for days in which Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham intended to tell the citizens in the villages in the far southern countryside of Idlib and the north-eastern countryside of Hama, to leave their houses to avoid the intensive shelling which will be carried out on the area if the operation starts, thus, the area witnessed a displacement movement during the past days to villages far from the areas of this military operation, while Hama province witnessed months ago violent clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and the rebel and Islamic factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, in which they managed to take the control of a large number of villages and towns, under a cover of intensive shelling, then the regime forces came and retook the control on the whole areas they lost.
