The regime forces impose their control on most of the south-east of Rif Dimashq and the factions of the desert withdraw from their headquarters and concentrate in scatter groups there

The Syrian Desert in the south-east of Rif Dimashq, is witnessing skirmishes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the fighters of the factions of the desert of Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiyyah as well as the forces of Ahmad al-Abdu, in conjunction with the scanning operation which the regime forces are carrying out in the desert of the south-east of Rif Dimashq, after they managed to take the control of most of south-east of Rif Dimashq, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the factions of the desert withdrew from all of their headquarters after the intensive raids against them during the past days and weeks, which were carried by warplanes and helicopters, in which their presence is limited to points of concentration and locations in this desert.

This advancement by the regime forces came after violent clashes took place on the Syrian – Jordanian border and in the desert of the south-east of Rif Dimashq and the north-eastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa connected with it, since the second day after the Syrian South truce was put on effect in the 9th of July 2017, with an American – Russian – Jordanian agreement, to cease the hostilities, in which the regime forces violated it by starting a consecutive attack, resulted in their advancement in Al-Suwaidaa countryside and restoring most of that countryside, and also followed by attacks in the south of Rif Dimashq until the managed to take the control of most of the south-east of Rif Dimashq during the past 24 hours, which enabled them to extend their scope of control on the Syrian – Jordanian border, while wide areas of the desert are still out of the regime’s control in the stretched area south and north of the contact line between Jleeghm area and Al-Tanaf border crossing.
