After violent clashes…the regime forces backed by the Russian forces impose a complete siege on Deir Ezzor city and finish the presence of the organization on the banks opposite the city

The last night witnessed continuation of the violent clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas on the western banks of the Euphrates River, opposite Deir Ezzor city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes have been continuing between the both parties until now since this morning the 13th of October 2017, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces managed to achieve strategic advancement, and took the control of the whole of banks opposite the city, thus, they imposed a full human siege clamp down on the organization greatly, inside the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city in the western bank of the river, and this advancement and the finishing of the organization’s presence in eastern bank opposite Deir Ezzor city, helps to monitor areas opposite the river from Deir Ezzor city by firearm, and restrict the organization in these areas that are monitored by firearm.

This strategic advancement by the regime forces came 25 days after the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, managed to cross the Euphrates River, and moving from the western bank to the eastern bank of the river, by using water bridges, enabled them to pass mechanism, heavy weapons, tanks and armored vehicles, and took the control of a number of villages on the banks opposite Deir Ezzor Military Airbase and the city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 28th of September 2017, that the regime forces backed by ground Russian forces as well as Russian warplanes, are trying to force the “Islamic State” organization to withdraw before imposing the siege on it, by an operation in which they will encircle the town and impose a siege on it from the east of the Euphrates River, and close all ways out of the city, as only one village still separates the regime forces to impose that siege.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that it rose to 505 members of the both parties of who were killed since the 28th of September 2017, until the 11th of October 2017, in which the death toll has increased to 271 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, including 26 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah and about 100 members of the militiamen loyal to the regime forces of non-Syrian nationalities, while the death toll rose to about 298 members of ISIS of who were killed by blowing themselves up by using explosive belts and by booby trapped vehicles and in artillery and rocket shelling and raids and clashes against the regime forces in the areas where they attacked.
