The regime forces achieve rapid advancement in Deir Ezzor city at the expense of the “Islamic State” organization and control more than 92% of the city

Deir Ezzor province – the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: warplanes carried out more airstrikes on places in the neighborhoods of Al-Tubiyah, Al-Katef, Souq Al-Hall and other areas in the city of Al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, while warplanes believed to belong to the International Coalition targeted by heavy machine guns places in the village of Al-Ghabra in the countryside of Al-Bukamal, resulting in the martyrdom of a person and injury of two persons and a child with sever different injuries, while the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities are still attacking the positions of the “Islamic State” organization in the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces managed to achieve further advancement inside the city of Deir Ezzor, through controlling the neighborhoods of Al-Kanmat, Al-Khasarat and the Old Airport, and half of Hawija Kata, with a cover of violent and intensive shelling, while the regime forces are still attacking in other areas after this latest control operation, where the regime forces are approaching to end the presence of ISIS in Deir Ezzor city after they managed to fully besiege the organization-held areas in the city from the four sides.

With this advancement of the regime forces, the areas controlled by ISIS are declining in the city of Deir Ezzor city, and the regime forces have controlled 92.3% of the area of Deir Ezzor city. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces started a violent attack, in the city, and the attack concentrated on Al-Rasafa, Al-Ommal and al-Sena’aa neighborhoods, as the regime forces are seeking to end the presence of the organization inside the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city, after they managed to impose a full siege over the controlled areas of ISIS in the city from the four directions.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces managed, under a cover of intensive and violent shelling, to achieve great advancement in Al-Rasafa, Al-Ommal and al-Sena’aa neighborhoods, and take the control of varying areas of the three neighborhoods, which resulted in minimizing ISIS scope of control, in which the regime forces have imposed their control on about 81% of the area of Deir Ezzor city, as the controlled area of the regime forces has extended since the managed in the 10th of September 2017, to open the main road coming from Damascus, and the operation of lifting the siege was carried out on 3 stages the first was to lift the siege on the Brigade 137, then lifting the siege of Deir Ezzor Military Airport and the bloc of neighborhoods related to it, and the third stage was to reach the western entrance of Deir Ezzor city at the area of Panorama area after taking the control of Damascus – Deir Ezzor road.

And this advancement coincides with taking the control of Al-Husseiniyah village by the regime forces which tighten their grip even more on the eastern banks of Euphrates opposite to Deir Ezzor city, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 14th of October 2017, that the regime forces are resuming their advancement imposing the siege on ISIS which is still located in Deir Ezzor city, and controls a number of neighborhoods there, while the SOHR monitored that the regime forces managed to achieve new advancement and block the corridor between the eastern and the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor at the eastern banks of the river, which goes through the controlled areas of the regime forces and the controlled areas of the Syria Democratic Forces.
