The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

Violent attack by the “Islamic State” organization at the border of Homs with Deir Ezzor kills and injuries more than 32 of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them

Homs province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that violent clashes took place on the administrative border between the countryside of Deir Ezzor and the northeastern countryside of Homs near the Syrian-Iraqi border, after a violent attack by the “Islamic State” organization on Hmimeh area, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes continued since the dawn of today until the afternoon of Friday today, the 20th of October 2017, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that in the violent attack tens of members of the regime forces were killed and injured,  where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 14 members most of them were of non-Syrian nationalities, in addition to the injury  of 18 others with varying severity, also the organization managed to seize weapons and ammunition, and information about the withdrawal of members of the organization of the area which was controlled by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented on the 17th of October 2017 that the “Islamic State” organization carried out a violent attack on areas near the administrative borders between Homs and Deir Ezzor along the Syrian-Iraqi border, and the Syrian Observatory monitored the “Islamic State” organization being able to advance in the area of Wadi Al-Wa’er Dam forcing the regime forces to retreat and withdraw, after intense explosions and shelling which targeted regime forces’ position in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented during this violent attack the death of more than 19 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and also the injury of others.
