Continuous clashes in the capital Damascus since about 72 hours and the “Islamic State” organization continues its attacks to decrease the factions’ control and advancement at their expense
Damascus Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Clashes have been taking place at a violent pace for about 72 hours in the south of the capital Damascus, between the “Islamic State” organization against the fighters of the Islamic faction from Aknaf Bayt al-Maqdes, Sham al-Rasul Brigade and other fighters, where the clashes were concentrated in the outskirts of the camp from the side of the south of Rif Dimashq, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the clashes during the past 24 hours have been concentrated in the vicinity of the Japanese Hospital, and they were accompanied by violent exchange of shelling between both parties, and the shelling have caused injuries in ranks of the faction fighters, while the Syrian Observatory has documented the death of a leader of Aknaf Bayt al-Maqdes, who has been killed in the clashes between both parties.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 20th of October 2017 that the “Islamic State” organization was able to advance in the area at the expense of the factions, and took control of a school and a dispensary in the Yarmouk Camp in the vicinity of Yalda area south of Rif Dimashq, and the clashes were accompanied by exchange of targeting between members of the organization against the factions of Aknaf Bayt al-Maqdes and Sham al-Rasul Brigade, it is noteworthy that Aknaf Bayt al-Maqdes was one of the factions which signed about 8 days ago a ceasefire announcement south of the capital Damascus, which was carried out with a Russian guarantee and an Egyptian supervision.
