Al-Sadd Camp…Al-Sadd where thousands of the displaced people crashed after they escaped from certain death in their homes
Thousands of displaced people suffer from tragic humanitarian conditions, in Al-Sadd Camp, which is located near Al-Basel Lake, in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, this countryside which witnessed fierce clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces against the “Islamic State” organization, resulted in great displacement of thousands of persons of children, citizen women, men and young men, from the clash areas.
Al-Sadd Camp which is established about 4 months ago under the supervision of the Kurdish Internal Security Forces “Asayish” and the SDF whose main pillar is the YPG, about 12 thousand people displaced to it, after they escaped from the hell of the clashes of Deir Ezzor and Al-Hasakah countryside, and the bombardment of the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes, where they had no guilt, but their presence and decline from these areas, returned into a guilt against them, also the YPG did not allow the displaced people of the camp to enter Al-Hasakah, with the exception of having a sponsor of the local residents there, in which the displaced people have to pay money, to get out of the camp that reaches 500$ for each family.
The activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented how the displaced people of Al-Sadd Camp suffer from the shortage of food, which was confined to food baskets that were brought into the camp under the supervision of the Syrian Red Crescent, while the foodstuffs are monopolized, in small shops of which reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that they are of members of the camp administration, which was built in a primitive manner in the camp, where the stuffs are sold at high prices, in addition to the lack of the tents in the camp, where every ten families lives only in a big tent, after the tents ran out, and the medical care is confined to providing first aid, in which local sources confirmed that “Asayish” forces refuse to transfer patients to Al-Hasakah hospitals, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 10 persons including 3 children and a woman as a result of food and medicine.
These tragic conditions in Al-Sadd Camp, prompted the displaced people to take part in several demonstrations protesting against the practices of the YPG and “Asayish” forces, and the last one went out on Saturday the 21st of October 2017, which local sources told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that it was met by intensive opening of fire in the air in order to break the demonstrators up.
