A funeral was held for 4 Marxist-party fighters who were killed the battles of Al-Raqqah city

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a funeral was held for 5 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces and of members fighting on their side, who were killed in former operations in Al-Raqqah city, and among the fighters there are 4 fighters of the Communist Marxist-Leninist Party, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 16th of August 2017 that a commander in the Marxist-Leninist Party, known as “MLKP”, died of injuries sustained during the past 48 hours in a military operation executed in Al-Raqqah Province. In addition, 5 fighters and field commanders, of non-Syrian nationalities, were injured in the same position. He is considered the 5th non-Syrian fighter to lose his life since the start of the Grand Battle of Al-Raqqah on the 6th of June 2017, along with one British, two Americans and one Georgian.

The SOHR documented previously at the end of May 2017 the death of two commanders, including one who belongs to the Turkish Left Party and another to the Marxist-Leninist Party, as a result of shelling, bombings and in clashes with ISIS as part of the “Euphrates Wrath” Operations. The SOHR had also published two years ago that the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party “MLKP” formed its first Battalion in Ras Al-Ayn city (Sari Kani) under the name of “Al-Shahid Sarkan” (the Martyr Sarkan), who used to be one of its fighters before he died in clashes with ISIS in the countryside of Ras Al-Ayn city. The Battalion includes foreign fighters of several nationalities. Sources confirmed to the SOHR that 8 fighters of the abovementioned party were killed in previous clashes with ISIS in several areas in Al-Hasakah countryside and Ayn Al-Arab (Kobani) countryside, including a German female fighter, who is considered the first fighter to lose her life while fighting on the side of YPG in the countryside of Tal Tamr town in the first third of March 2015.

The Syrian Observatory has also published in the past few hours that it documented the death of a field commander of British nationality, while he was fighting In the YPG side, which is the main pillar of the Syria Democratic Forces, against the “Islamic State” organization, and cross-sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the field commander – Jack Holms – who leads a group of snipers of non-Syrian fighters, died affected by the injury he had in Al-Raqqah city where the presence of ISIS has finished completely on the 17th October 2017.

Thus, the number of the fighters of foreign nationalities, of who were killed during the Grand Battle of Al-Raqqah which started in the 6th of July 2017, until today the 24th of October 2017, has increased to 6 fighters of about 660 fighters of the forces of the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation of who were killed during the same period, including 2 fighters from the Syrian Elites Forces, a Syriac Security Force fighter, 6 fighters of American, Georgian, British and Turkish nationalities, while the rest of them are from the Syria Democratic Forces, whose main pillar is the YPG, and fighters of Manbij Military Council, who were killed during explosions, bombardment, shelling and clashes against the “Islamic State” organization in al-Raqqa city and the southern banks of Euphrates River and in mine explosions.
