Continuous clashes in the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city, al-Asharah area and the eastern banks of the Euphrates River
Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The clashes continued between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization in areas in the neighborhoods of the Deir Ezzor city, amid intensive and constant shelling by the regime forces on the city and on the clash areas, with regime’s continued quest to end the presence of the organization in the city, after controlling more than 92% of the city’s area, and this attack comes after bringing the Brigadier Suhail Hasan aka “Tiger”, who leads the operations in Deir Ezzor Province in order to control the entire Deir Ezzor city, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.
The clashes also continue in al-Asharah area between both parties, in a continuation of regime’s operation that aim to achieve a wide advancement in the West Bank for the Euphrates River, in order to control al-Asharah and extend their control in the west of the river, and al-Asharah is witnessing intense shelling by the regime forces and raids by Russian and regime warplanes, while the clashes continue in the vicinity of Jdaydet Ekydat which was controlled by the regime forces hours ago, within regime’s continuous effort to advance east of Euphrates, in parallel with their advancement west of the river, amid exchange of targeting in the clash areas, also the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the regime forces advanced and became at a distance of less than 11 km away from Al-Busayrah township, and the regime forces managed this morning to hold their control in Tabyat Jazeera village, coming from Khesham town, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them managed to impose their full control on Tabyat Jazeera village, thus, they secured greatly their forces exist at the outskirts of the gas field and factory of Koniko which is the biggest gas field in Syria, while the regime forces are seeking to continue their advancement to the east as a part of their efforts to secure their forces exist on the western banks of the Euphrates River, by trying to take the control of the entire eastern banks of the Euphrates River from the side opposite Deir Ezzor city to the banks opposite Al-Asharah township.
