48 hours of Al-Bokamal Battle kill 70 members of the regime forces and Syrian, Lebanese and Arab fighters loyal to them and members of ISIS

ISIS carries out counter attacks to delay the regime’s advancement and repel their attack on the last stronghold of it in Syria

The fighting almost does not calm down in Deir Ezzor province, from an attack to another and from a winning battle to a counter attack disturbs the joy of the victory, thus, the battle turned from Deir Ezzor and its countryside to Al-Bokamal, which is the last city controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past 48 hours, continuous fighting between the members of the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, on areas in Deir Ezzor city and the eastern countryside of Al-Mayadin, the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, and the area of T2 Station in the south-eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented during this violent fighting, a withdrawal of the regime forces from Al-Asharah Township to Al-Quriyah town, after a counter attack by the organization, which exploited the bad weather in the area, and forces the regime forces to withdraw from Al-Asharah and from areas in Al-Quriyah town, where the organization carried out surprising attack that managed it to achieve this advancement, and the attack accompanied intensive shelling and targeting and violent explosions rocked the area, while this fighting accompanied by violent ongoing fighting in the vicinity of the Second Station (T 2) in the south-western countryside of Al-Bokamal, where the regime forces are trying to achieve simultaneous advancement by taking the control of T 2 Station, and by advancing and taking the control of Al-Asharah Township, this advancement will enable the regime forces to reach Al-Bokamal city, which they are trying to reach and take the control of it, to complete their control over the entire western bank of the Euphrates River from the border of Al-Raqqah to Iraqi border, then they end its presence in the entire section in the west of the Euphrates River to the border of Homs, and T 2 Station, Al-Bokamal and the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor witnessed raids targeted the controlled areas of the organization and its positions.

And in Deir Ezzor city, the violent clashes are continuing between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, as a part of the continuous efforts of the regime forces to impose their control over the remaining places of the city which are under the control of ISIS, and which are about 8% of total area of the city, where the regime forces are escalating their shelling as well as raids by the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes, on the controlled areas of the organization and its positions, while the fighting is continuing in the vicinity of Tabyat Jazeera area, in the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, which is near Koniko gas field, after the withdrawal of the regime forces from Jadeed Ekaydat village as a result of the counter attacks by the organization after the regime forces managed to take the control of it yesterday.

The violent clashes and the intensive shelling by artillery, mortar, tanks and missiles launchers that accompanies them, as well as the explosions and the exchange of the targeting, left great number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties, during the past 48 hours, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 27 members at least of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, they are 13 members of Syrian nationalities, and the rest are of Lebanese, Arab and Asian nationalities, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 42 members at least of the “Islamic State” organization, while tens of member in the ranks of the both parties were injured with varying degrees of severity, while the number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
