The SDF enter Jadeed Ekaydat and try to hold their control to block the way against the advancement of the regime forces in the east of the Euphrates River
The clashes continue in the east of the Euphrates River in the eastern and the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent fighting is continuing between the Syria Democratic Forces against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in Jadeed Ekaydat village and other areas in the east of the Euphrates River, where the SDF managed to advance and enter Jadeed Ekaydat village which is located to the east of Tabyat Jazeera village, and if the SDF which lead “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation manage to advance and hold their control over the entire Jadeed Ekaydat village, then they block the way against the advancement on the eastern banks of the river by of the regime forces that are concentrated in Tabyat Jazeera village, and the clashes are accompanied by exchange of intensive shelling between the both parties, and the SDF also managed to achieve advancement in the area, and they took the control of two villages in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which helped to increase their scope of control in the East of the Euphrates River.
And the regime forces has lost the control of Jadeed Ekaydat village, on the 25th of October 2017, after a violent counter attack, by the “Islamic State” organization on the village 24 hours after they took the control of it, it is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had received reliable information on the 22nd of October, from a number of sources which confirmed that there are mediation between dignitaries from the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and ISIS to convince the latter to hand over, to the SDF, villages, towns and the remaining areas from Khesham area to Hajin town, and area of about 110 kilometers from the eastern banks of the Euphrates, in addition to the whole area remained in the northern and northeastern countryside, which is extended to the countryside Al-Sewar town, and the sources asserted that ISIS prefer handing over the organization-held areas to the SDF instead of handing them over to “the Shiite Militia”, in order to prevent the regime forces from advancing towards these area, and in this case, it is expected that the regime forces will move their military operation to the area of Al-Bukamal and nearby village in its countryside and the western banks of the Euphrates River in order to control these areas,
in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 17th of October 2017, that the “Islamic State” organization withdrew from the villages that were under its control in the area between al-Husseiniya village -which is controlled by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them- and Mhimideh village -which is controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces, these villages are: Al-Jninah, Shaqra, Ji’aa, al-Alayna, al-Hesan, Sfireh Foqani and Sfireh Tahtani east of the Euphrates River and northwest of Deir Ezzor city, the sources confirmed that the organization withdrew from these villages towards areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the Syria Democratic Forces have entered several villages and started sweeping where they entered, in conjunction with completing their advancement towards the rest of the villages which are now ISIS-free, thus, the entire northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor is free from the “Islamic State” organization, while the Sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the withdrawal took place by an unannounced agreement between the organization and the “Jazeera Storm” Operation, by securing a withdrawal corridor for the organization towards its controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, in exchange for getting out of these villages, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 22nd of October 2017, that the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the US Special Forces, managed to achieve strategic advancement in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, in which they managed to enter Al-Omar oilfield, which is the biggest oilfield in Syria, this achievement came after the “Islamic State” organization managed the night before the SDF took the control of the field, to expel the regime forces from the eastern banks of the Euphrates River opposite Al-Mayadin city, where the organization forced them to withdraw, by carrying out a counter attack on the area, then the SDF started an attack to take the control of the oilfield which the regime forces had reached its outskirts, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned that this advancement of the SDF took place by advancing towards the field from several areas, in which these forces managed during the last night to take the control of Al-Sayjan field which is located in the north of Al-Omar oilfield.
