Shelling target Deir Ezzor city and ongoing clashes in the city as the regime try to end the presence of the organization in it

Deir Ezzor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: areas in the neighborhood under the control of ISIS in Deir Ezzor were continuously being shelled by the regime forces, which targeted areas in it, in conjunction with the ongoing clashes between the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against ISIS members, where the regime forces are trying to achieve a new advancement, through which they could tighten the noose further on ISIS inside the city, some areas of which are still under its control, and the regime forces are heavily using fire to prevent the organization from holding onto the areas they exist, and force the organization to withdraw from the city, and the clash areas is witnessing an exchange of targeting between the regime and the organization members, amid information about human losses in the ranks of both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday, the regime forces managed to achieve important advancement, by imposing their control over the entire neighborhoods of Al-Kanamat, Al-Khasarat and Old airport, after they forces the remaining members of ISIS to withdraw from the neighborhoods, thus, they managed to clamp down greatly on the organization inside the city, while the violent fighting is still continuing in Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood, which is the biggest neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, with the continuous attempts of the regime forces to achieve further advancement in the area, and to complete their control of the neighborhood, and information about casualties as a result of the shelling, the clashes and the intensive raids on the clash areas and the controlled areas of the organization, amid counter attacks by the organization in an attempt to regain the control of the areas it lost.

And with this advancement, the organization’s presence has finished in Deir Ezzor city with the exception of Sheikh Yasin and Al-Aradi neighborhoods and large parts of the neighborhoods of Al-Hamidiyah, Al-Rashdiyah and Al-Hwiqa, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 29th of October 2017, that the regime forces managed to achieve important advancement, and they took the control of parts of Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood which is the biggest neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, and the Syrian Observatory also published that although the organization used the advantage of the bad weather to carry out counter attacks on the positions of the regime forces during night, the regime forces backed by gunmen loyal to them, also manage to carry out a violent attack, and advanced controlling Al-Arfi and Al-Ommal neighborhoods, and imposed full control on the area of the Municipal Stadium and the nearby sports constructions in the vicinity of Al-Ommal neighborhood, thus, the regime forces managed to clamp down on the organization greatly in Deir Ezzor city, and the violent fighting between the both parties was accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces, while the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes carried out tens of raids on the controlled areas of the organization in Deir Ezzor city, and the clashes which the city witnessed during the past hours, were the most violent ones since the siege on the city was lifted on the 10th of September 2017, and left large numbers of casualties in the ranks of the both parties in Deir Ezzor city.
