29 casualties at least including 8 officers in the ongoing violent attack of Ahrar Al-Sham Movement on the Vehicle Department near Harasta in the Eastern Ghouta

Targeting Al-Ghouta by about 550 raids, artillery shells and missiles resulted in the fall of about 110 casualties and wounded

 

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the fighting does not almost stop, despite the varying degrees of its pace of violence, in the Vehicle Department and its vicinity, near Harasta city, in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the fighters of Liwaa Fajr al-Umma of the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the pace of clashes has escalated since the dawn of today the 16th of November 2017, and the clashes were accompanied by intensive shelling by tens of shells by the regime forces on areas in Harasta city and the clash areas between the both parties, and the warplanes targeted Harasta city by 6 raids at least, in conjunction with targeting Arbin city which is controlled by Al-Rahman Corps by 3 raids at least.

 

This violent fighting which has been continuing since the noon of Tuesday, caused more human losses of members and fighters in the ranks of the both parties, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the increase of the number of casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them to 29 casualties at least including 8 officers including a general, while tens of fighters of the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham were killed and injured in the same attack, also the fighters of Ahrar Al-Sham managed to seize weapons and ammunition, and the clashes coincided with exchange of targeting between the both parties on the clash areas.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented since the noon of Tuesday the 14th of November 2017, and until yesterday after the midnight, that the regime forces targeted the clash areas in the vicinity of the Vehicle Department and areas in the nearby city of Harasta and town of Mdira by about 355 shells, as well as 73 raids carried out by warplanes on areas in Harasta city and Mdira town, in which the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them has documented since the noon of Tuesday the 14th of November 2017, and until yesterday after the midnight, that the warplanes carried out 16 raids at least targeted areas in Douma city which is the stronghold of Jaysh Al-Islam in the Eastern Ghouta, and Arbin city which is controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, while the regime forces shelled the cities and the towns of Douma, Masraba, Saqba, Hamouriyah, Arbin, Ashari Farms, areas near Mdira, Hazza and Kafr Batna in the Eastern Ghouta by about 100 artillery and rocket shells and missiles that are believed to be ground-to-ground, in which the shelling resulted in the fall of tens of casualties and wounded, as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented in the same period, the death of 12 citizens they are 8 citizens were killed on Wednesday and 4 others were killed on Tuesday, and in the details which the SOHR documented; the casualties who were killed on Wednesday, are 4 citizens including a child they were killed by raids targeted areas in Arbin city and a man was killed by rocket shelling on Saqba city, and another was killed by rocket and artillery shelling on Hamouriyah city, and 2 citizens were killed by aerial and artillery shelling on Douma city, while the casualties who were killed on Tuesday are 2 citizens were killed in artillery shelling by the regime forces on Arbin city, and two others were killed in shelling by the regime forces on Mdira town, and the shelling resulted in the injury of about 95 persons including children and citizen women with varying degrees of severity.
