Clashes inside al-Bokmal continue for the second day in a row and the regime forces try to go deep in the city under a cover of intense shelling and expel the organization from it

Al-Bokamal city witness the continuation of the military operations for the second day in a row, where the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and Arab nationalities have re-entered the city, which is the last city in the Syrian territory in which the “Islamic State” organization is present, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of clashes between them against members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in the eastern, western and southern parts of the city, in an attempt of by the regime forces to achieve an advancement and go deep in al-Bokmal city, and expel the organization of it, after days of losing control of the city by ambushes carried out by the organization against the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

These violent clashes are accompanied by intensive artillery and missile shelling by the regime forces on areas controlled by the organization and its locations, in conjunction with bombing by Russian warplanes and regime’s warplanes on areas in the city and its outskirts, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that 5 days after the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Revolutionary Iranian Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah were expelled, exactly on the 11th of November 2017, -in which the “Islamic State” organization and its members of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities managed to expel the attackers on Al-Bokamal city, by carrying out ambushes inside the city, after the organization drew them by making them believe that its members escape and withdrew from the city completely- the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the return of the violent clashes inside Al-Bokamal city which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, between the regime forces and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Asian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in the parts at the western, the eastern and the southern outskirts of Al-Bokamal city, which is the largest remaining stronghold of ISIS in Syria, and the last city to be controlled by ISIS in Syria, and the clashes are accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces on the controlled areas of the organization in the city and its vicinity, amid aerial bombardment on areas in Deir Ezzor countryside and the vicinity of the city, and information about confirmed casualties in the ranks of the both parties.

This violent fighting comes after the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them managed to impose their control over Al-Hamdan Airbase and the nearby residential community, adjacent Al-Bokamal city from the western side, after violent clashes between them against the “Islamic State” organization following an attack by the regime forces on the area, which accompanied by exchange of shelling and targeting between the both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 11th of November 2017, that that the organization managed to defeat the gunmen loyal to the regime of Lebanese, Iraqi and Asian nationalities, after it managed to regain the control of Al-Bokamal city, and to force the gunmen loyal to the regime to withdraw from the city, and the violent clashes were accompanied by intensive shelling by hundreds of shells, missiles and bombs, amid explosions and exchange of targeting in the city, which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, and the organization depended during its counter attack on carrying out ambushes against the gunmen loyal to the regime, and this was the largest ambush carried out by the organization against the gunmen loyal to the regime, as the organization drew the gunmen loyal to the regime gradually to place where it can re-attack them, after the organization made the gunmen loyal to the regime to believe that it collapsed and started to escape from the city, until it returned and started to carry out its successive counter attacks, which exhausted the gunmen loyal to the regime and forced them to withdraw to the eastern and the southern outskirts of the city, and the fighting caused great human losses in the ranks of the both parties, while the warplanes and the helicopters targeted the area by tens of strikes which caused more destruction to the infrastructure of the city.
