The regime forces continue their operation and advancement in the vicinity and countryside of Al-Bokmal city and warplanes raids on the city and the western banks of the Euphrates River
Deir Ezzor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: the fighting is still ongoing violently between the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of ISIS in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor province, where the clashes are concentrated inside the city of Al-Bokamal, especially in the northern and northeastern countryside of the city, which used to be the last city controlled by the organization in the Syrian territory, where the regime forces are trying to control the remaining areas of the city, which is close to the Syrian – Iraqi borders.
The SOHR also monitored the violent clashes between both parties in the vicinity of Al-Bokamal city, where the regime forces managed to advance in more villages in the vicinity and the countryside of Al-Bokamal, amid an exchange of shelling between both parties, and the regime forces and their warplanes shelled the same areas. Warplanes also targeted areas in the eastern countryside of the Euphrates River; these areas are Al-Salihiya, Al-Tawatha, Al-Sayal, Al-Ghabra, Al-Jala’a on the western banks of the Euphrates River and there is confirmed information about human losses in the ranks of both parties.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today the 18th of November that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes are still continuing for the third consecutive day after the clashes returned inside Al-Bokamal city, between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, after the organization expelled the attacking forces, and forced them to withdraw from the city by carrying out successive counter attack, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today the 18th of November 2017, that the regime forces managed to penetrate deep into Al-Bokamal city, which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, where they managed to advance inside the city, and forced the organization to withdraw to the northern part of the city, in which each party is fighting desperately to achieve its goal, in which the organization is trying to defeat the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them again, and expel them from the city, and to force them to withdraw from its last and largest stronghold in Syria, while the regime forces are seeking to expel the organization and force it to withdraw from the city, which is located on the western banks of the Euphrates River, and which is the last city for the organization to be present in the Syrian territory, and the ongoing clashes were accompanied by sweeping by the regime forces to the areas which they controlled, while the clashes are concentrated in the northern and the north-eastern countryside of the city, from the side of the Euphrates River, amid exchange of targeting.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored yesterday the continuation of these violent clashes, in conjunction with intensive artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces on the controlled areas of the organization and its positions, amid bombardment by the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes on areas in the city and its outskirts, and information about confirmed casualties in the ranks of the both parties, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that Thursday, that 5 days after the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Revolutionary Iranian Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah were expelled, exactly on the 11th of November 2017, -in which the “Islamic State” organization and its members of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities managed to expel the attackers on Al-Bokamal city, by carrying out ambushes inside the city, after the organization drew them by making them believe that its members escape and withdrew from the city completely- the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the return of the violent clashes inside Al-Bokamal city which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, between the regime forces and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Asian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in the parts at the western, the eastern and the southern outskirts of Al-Bokamal city, which is the largest remaining stronghold of ISIS in Syria, and the last city to be controlled by ISIS in Syria, and the clashes are accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces on the controlled areas of the organization in the city and its vicinity, amid aerial bombardment on areas in Deir Ezzor countryside and the vicinity of the city, and information about confirmed casualties in the ranks of the both parties, and the violent fighting comes after the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them managed to impose their control over Al-Hamdan Airbase and the nearby residential community, adjacent Al-Bokamal city from the western side, after violent clashes between them against the “Islamic State” organization following an attack by the regime forces on the area, which accompanied by exchange of shelling and targeting between the both parties.
