About 2 month after the violent attack by the organization and its control over parts of Al-Sukhnah before losing it again, a car bomb target the regime forces leaving 15 people killed and injured
Homs province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: violent explosion rocked the regime-held city of Al-Sukhna in the eastern countryside of Homs, that was caused by a car bomb, according to cross sources, targeting a positions of the regime forces near the entry of the city, within the past hours, causing the death of at least 5 members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen, and the injury of more than 10 others with different severity, and the death toll may increase due to the presence of several injured people in serious conditions.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a massive and violent attack carried out by the “Islamic State” organization in late September 2017 and it was led by the “Caliphate Army”, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the attacking army was led by leaders of non-Syrian nationalities (Arab and foreign) accompanied by fighters, infiltrators and suicide bombers and many of them are of the Syrian Bedouin, where this army was able during its successive and sudden attacks to exhaust the regime forces, and forced a lot of their members and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities to flee and pull out of their positions towards more fortified sites, this retreat enabled the organization to achieve an important advancement and control al-Tayba town and al-Dahek Mountain and other areas stretching from the western desert of Deir Ezzor to the eastern desert of Homs near al-Sukhnah area and the 3rd Station, also in the second phase of the attack some of groups of the organization have infiltrated and took control of Al-Qaryatayn city, located in the southeastern desert of Homs, the attacks left hundreds of members of both parties killed and dozens of civilians were killed and executed.
It noteworthy that the regime forces managed on the 5th of August to achieve strategic advancement in the Syrian desert, where the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities to control Al-Sukhna city, which used to be the last city controlled by ISIS in Homs province, the control came after violent and heavy shelling by the regime forces by the missile and artillery shelling and heavy bombardment by Russian and regime warplanes and helicopters on the city.
