In the second month of the third year of its participation…Russia kills about 270 citizens and raises the number of civilian casualties to 6200 persons during 26 months of killing
More than 41% of the total death toll of 15000 people killed by Russiasince the start of its direct participation in Syria in September 2015 are civilians
From the Coalition to the “Islamic State” organization to the Russian, continuous killing against the Syrian citizens, under the pretext of “fighting the Islamic State organization”, and under the cover of “liberating the citizen from the terrorism grip”, but the citizens themselves became the victims, as the warplanes targeted them in their houses and while they were displacing, even after they displaced in which they targeted their camps in the Syrian deserts, as the Russian warplanes targeted by more strikes areas in the Syrian cities, towns and villages, which caused more civilians casualties and wounded, while supporting the regime forces to increase their scope of control inside the Syrian territory which reached 103085 square km if the Syrian territory, with a percentage of 55.7% of the total area of Syria.
Today the 30th of November 2017, Russia’s intervention in Syria and its participation in the direct military operations on the Syrian territory have completed the 2nd month of the 3rd year, this participation enabled the regime forces to achieve a wide advancement within Syria at the expense of the “Islamic State” organization and the rebel and Islamic factions, Russia continued to fail to appear as a pacifist, and its attempts seemed to be mired in Syrian blood, and it continued to sign truces with the first hand, and kills citizens with the other, as its warplanes struck Syrian areas within and outside the truce zones, which caused thousands of casualties and wounded during 26 months of its participation in the direct military operations on the Syrian territory, since the start of its strikes on the 30th of September 2015, until today the 30th of November 2017, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was able to document the death of 14991 civilians and fighters of the rebel and Islamic Factions, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham (al-Nusra Front formerly) and the “Islamic state” organization, who were killed by thousands of airstrikes which targeted several provinces of Syria, and the SOHR also documented the death of 554 persons at least including 263 citizens including 72 children and 45 women who were killed during the period from the 30th of October 2017, to the 30th of November 2017.
And the casualties of 26 months were:
– 1521 children below the age of eighteen, 928 citizen women over the age of eighteen and 3778 males over the age of eighteen.
– 4679 members of the “Islamic state” organization.
– 4085 fighters of the rebel and Islamic factions, Fath al-Sham Front, the Islamic Turkestan Party and fighters of Arab and foreign nationalities.
It is worth mentioning that Russia recently used the “Thermite” substance in their airstrikes, which is composed of aluminum powder and iron oxide, and causes burns because it continues to ignite for about 180 seconds, and it is inside the bombs used by Russian warplanes in recent weeks of bombing the Syrian territory, it is a cluster incendiary bombs, its type is “RBK-500 ZAB 2.5 SM” which weighs about 500 kg (about 1100 pounds) dropped by the military aircrafts, and carry small sized bombs anti-individuals and anti-vehicles of the type ((AO 2.5 RTM)), between 50 -110 small sized bombs stuffed with “Thermite”, which outpour out of it when they explode, the range of this anti-individuals and anti-vehicles bombs is between 20-30 meters.
We in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and through publishing the documented statistics of human losses, which the civilian Syrians are their main victims due to the military operations in Syria, in addition to documenting the war crimes and the crimes against humanity which are continuously committed in Syria, we are also seeking to send a message to the international community, carried through the cries and pain of the Syrian people, we in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, renew our condemnation against the Syrian citizens and call the UNSC and the UN to work harder to stop the daily killing against the Syrian citizens who seek to reach the country of liberty, democracy and equality.
