The fighting of the regime forces against the organization ends with taking the control of about 54% of Deir Ezzor area by the first and the SDF fights to snatch the last 8% remaining under ISIS control

The operations against the “Islamic State” organization in Deir Ezzor province have not finished yet, although the military operations in the west of the Euphrates River have finished, between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Iranian, Afghan, and Palestinian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, after the regime forces completed to impose their control over ISIS last pocket remaining in the west of Al-Bokamal city, as the regime forces managed this noon, Wednesday the 6th of December 2017, to achieve strategic advancement controlling the last area of ISIS presence in the west of the Euphrates River in the countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

The ongoing military operations against the organization started through being concentrated in the east of the Euphrates River, where the battle fronts between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the International Coalition against the “Islamic State” organization exist, since the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation started their attack on the 1st of December 2017, as the violent clashes between the both parties are concentrated in the towns of Abu Hamam and al-Kashkiyyeh as well as the vicinity of Darnaj village, where the SDF are trying to impose their control over the area, and to expel ISIS and end its presence in the last 18 villages and towns remaining under its control, and the most important towns and villages of them are Darnaj, al-Karama, al-Jerthi, Abu Hardoub, Abu Hamam, al-Kashkiyyeh, Gharanij, Al-Bahra, Hajin, Abu Hasan, al-Shafa, al-Susah, al-Marashdah and al-Shakla in the eastern banks of Euphrates River.

The recent advancement of the regime forces and their allied in the west of the Euphrates River, and the ability of the organization to recover positions it lost in the east of the Euphrates, as well as the advancement of the SDF in other areas on the eastern bank of the river, changed the map of the conflict and distributing the influences of the military forces presented in Deir Ezzor province, as ISIS scope of control decreased to about 8% of the area of Deir Ezzor province, and its presence confined only in the east of the Euphrates River, while the regime forces expanded and their scope of control has increased to 53.4% to be imposed over the entire section east of the Euphrates from the border of the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor, with the administrative border of the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, to the Syrian – Iraqi border, including Deir Ezzor city, controlling villages, farms, cities and towns, the most important are Deir Ezzor city, Al-Mayadin, Bakrus, Al-BoOmar, Al- Muhasan, Miray’iyyah, al-Jufrah, Ayyash, Al-Shmaytiyyah, Al-Tabni, Al-Kharita and other villages on the western bank of the Euphrates River, and they also control an area in the east of the Euphrates River opposite Deir Ezzor city and its military airbase, from Al-Husseiniyah village in the east of the Euphrates River opposite Deir Ezzor city, to Tabyat Jazeera village.

While the SDF control an area of 38.6% of the area of Deir Ezzor province, in which they control the entire east of the Euphrates River from the border of the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor, with border of Al-Raqqah province, to the area opposite Sh’aytat desert east of the Euphrates River, including the largest oilfield in Syria: al-Omar oilfield, and the largest plant and gas field in Syria: Koniko field, and the fields of al-Tank, Sijan and al-Jufrah, and the villages and towns of al-Sabkha, al-Sor, Jdid Ekydat, Jdid Bakara, al-Kubar, Mhimideh, al-Sa’wa, Z’eir Jzira, al-Kasra, and other areas stretching from the north of Deir Ezzor city until the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah and to the Syrian – Iraqi border.
