After weeks of bloody clashes… Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham releases prisoners of Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib and hands over checkpoints to the Movement of Nur al-Din al-Zenki west of Aleppo

Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham released several members of the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham including a leader, of who were previously arrested in Idlib following the clashes that took place between both parties months ago, also Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham handed over several checkpoints in the western countryside of Aleppo to the Movement of Nur al-Din al-Zenki, and in this context, the Syrian Observatory published on the 12th of December 2017 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from a number of reliable sources, that a meeting was held among the largest factions operating in the western and the southern countryside of Aleppo and Idlib province, and the meeting included Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, and other factions that had fought earlier against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and the sources told the SOHR that the meeting was as a reconciliation among the factions, and these sources confirmed to the SOHR that the meeting reached results regarding the points of giving the weapons and the headquarters, which were seized by each party, back to the party that had owned them, and the release of the captives.

This meeting among the factions operating in the in Idlib province and Aleppo countryside, coincides with sending military reinforcements of the factions, to the battle fronts with the regime forces and their allies, and with the “Islamic State” organization, in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib and the north-eastern countryside of Hama, in an attempt by the factions to strengthen their presence in order to repel any new advancement through which the organization or the regime forces try to expand their scope of control in Hama and Idlib countryside.
