The capital is targeted again by shells that claimed the lives of 5 persons and raises the number of those killed and inured to at least 265 within 5 weeks of escalation

Damascus province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: It rose to at least 5 persons including a child, who were killed in fall of shells on Al-Ehda Al-Ashriya area in Al-Zablatany in the eastern part of the capital, while the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of several injured people in serious conditions, rising to at least of 37 persons including a woman and a child, whose death was documented by the SOHR since the 16th of November 2017, where about 228 persons were injured with different severity, and some of them suffer serious injuries, while some of them are still in serious conditions, which may increase the death toll, where they targeted during the past days places in Al-Dawila area, places in Al-Dawila, and Al-Sawika areas, areas of Al-Fahama and Khalid bin al-Walid Street, and other areas in Old Damascus, Al-Zablatany, Al-Mujtahed, al-Fayhaa, Al-Abasyeen, Al-Mayadeen, Seba’ Baharat, Aish Al-Warawar, Jermana, Dahyat Al-Assad, Military Teshereen Hospital and other places in the center of the capital.

This is considered the second targeting on the capital Damascus and its suburbs during the second month of shelling escalation in the capital and its suburbs. The SOHR published on the 16th of December that escalation of shelling on the regime-held areas in the capital Damascus and its vicinity and outskirts continue its first month since the beginning of targeting the aforementioned areas on the 16th of November 2017, which left big human losses.
